POSITION INFORMATION

TITLE:

Network Operations Engineer III (multiple open positions)

DUTIES:

Supports network operations engineering activities. Develop and document procedures and best practices for network operations infrastructure as it pertains to airline operations, safety, customer service, and business support.

Provide day-to-day operational support of the network, including responding to user and system-initiated tickets and resolving network incidents. Serve as the first point of escalation for challenging issues not resolved by junior network operations engineers. Establish and execute the life cycle process for network equipment, including OS patching and upgrades.

Maintain network management systems and tools (e.g., Solarwinds, NetMRI, NetScout, etc.). Define best practices for network management systems, including recommendations for key performance indicators and alert thresholds. Review and respond to monitoring alerts, logs, and alarms. Analyze and maintain performance data and makes recommendations and changes to ensure optimal network utilization.

Perform installations and configurations of enterprise network devices, including routers, switches, and wireless access points. Perform installations and configurations of enterprise security devices, including firewalls and remote access concentrators. Work directly with customers to resolve incidents.

Lead, train, and mentor peer network engineers. Lead the continuous process improvement life cycle that drives operational excellence. Lead network deployment projects by creating work break-down structures, work instruction packages, and then tracks to completion all network deliverables for the project.

Serve as a technical lead to resolve high severity outages impacting company operations. Create designs for new network features based on customer requirements.

REQUIREMENTS:
1.Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field, or foreign degree equivalent; and 2 years of experience in network engineering experience and in supporting a large enterprise environment with a multi-building campus, multiple data centers, MAN/WAN, and >5000 users. Experience must also include: 2 years of experience managing Cisco IOS; 2 years of experience managing Cisco, Fortinet and/or Checkpoint Firewalls; 2 years of experience managing Cisco NX-OS; 2 years of experience handling incident response to high severity outages; 1 year of experience managing complex network projects including creating work break-down structures, work instruction packages, and tracking to completion all network deliverables for the project; and 1 year of airline industry experience in a networking capacity.

In the alternative, employer will accept: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field, or foreign degree equivalent; and 5 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in network engineering experience and in supporting a large enterprise environment with a multi-building campus, multiple data centers, MAN/WAN, and >5000 users. Experience must also include: 4 years of experience managing Cisco IOS; 2 years of experience managing Cisco, Fortinet and/or Checkpoint Firewalls; 2 years of experience managing Cisco NX-OS; 2 years of experience handling incident response to high severity outages; 1 year of experience managing complex network projects including creating work break-down structures, work instruction packages, and tracking to completion all network deliverables for the project; and 1 year of airline industry experience in a networking capacity.

Experience can be gained concurrently.
2.Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification is required.
