Position Overview:

As a Network Operations Center (NOC) Technician I, this role is responsible for handing the disposition of tickets from customer support, interpreting alerts generated by monitoring and alerting systems, following defined processes for problem classification, troubleshooting and escalating to higher level technical resources in a timely manner to ensure prompt and accurate resolution of service impacting incidents. Team Members in this role are responsible for performing, validating and troubleshooting regularly scheduled data processing jobs and scheduled tasks to ensure all processing is completed accurately and within the established timelines on a daily basis.

All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and The Venetian | The Palazzo Casino Resort's policies, practices, and procedures.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor the infrastructure environment and application services for stability and performance in order to maintain 24x7 operations and resolve service impacts as they occur.

  • Manage a queue of work requests to meet service levels and KPI objectives.

  • Resolve incidents efficiently and collaborate with peer technical staff and service providers to facilitate efficient time to resolution in accordance with established processes and procedures.

  • Document problem descriptions and detailed problem diagnosis with accuracy and compliance with established practices. Review and where necessary update the tracking of problems in known error database system.

  • Observe root cause analysis and post incident review documentation.

  • Participate in the transfer of information from one shift to the next.

Key Processes

  • Execute defined procedures to fulfill role in Incident, Problem and Change processes and diligently perform required communications as required by Incident Commander and IT Operations Communications processes.

  • Monitor and test system performance, capacity and prepare and deliver system performance statistics and reports.

  • Conduct research on system platforms, architecture designs, services, and standards to remain abreast of developments in the enterprise computing industry.

  • Review and conform to policies, procedures and technology designs to ensure security and integrity of the enterprise compute environment.

  • Follow Job Aides, quick action and SOP's as required.

  • Perform all work in a manner to ensure interoperability and maintain regulatory compliance of enterprise computing systems.

  • Exercise discretion and judgment based on available information related to tasks assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 21+ years of age

  • Proof of authorization/eligibility to work in the United States

  • Associates degree in MIS or similar technical program or acceptable industry and work experience

  • 2+ year's demonstrable experience in technical support.

  • Experience with Microsoft server operating systems, VMware and related technologies.

  • Support experience with high availability solutions such as: clustering and data replication,

  • Experience working in a highly regulated environment (MICS, PCI, SOX)

  • Training and experience with ITSM practices.

  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.

  • Good written and oral communication skills; good interpersonal skills.

  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and mathematical skills.

  • Logical and efficient with a keen attention to detail.

  • Flexibly to adapt to a changing environment while under pressure

  • Strong customer service orientation.

  • Must be a self-starter that is reliable, punctual, and consistent with experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment

  • Familiarity with systems configuration, security principles, and maintenance best practices.

  • 0-2 years' experience with monitoring tools, techniques, alerting and notification processes.

  • 0 -2 years' experience with fault isolation, testing procedures, and data mapping tools

  • Knowledge of TCP/IP fundamentals and commonly-used network protocols (MPLS, IPv6, Multicast, OSPF, BGP, IS-IS)

  • Effective troubleshooting skills related to LAN/WAN networking, AD security and group policy application, file systems and permissions and file transfer techniques.

  • Ability to communicate effectively in a positive/upbeat fashion utilizing English, both in oral and written form.

  • Have interpersonal skills with focused attention to guest needs to deal effectively with all business contacts.

  • Maintain a professional, neat and well-groomed appearance adhering to Company appearance standards.

  • Maintain consistent adherence to the Venetian and Palazzo Unmatched Guest Service Standards.

  • Work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.

Physical Requirements:

  • Work in a fast-paced, results-oriented and ever-changing environment

  • Able to maintain composure under pressure and consistently meet deadlines with internal and external customers and contacts

  • Maintain physical stamina and proper mental attitude while dealing effectively with guests, management, team members, and outside contacts

  • Occasional inspection of cables in racks, floors and ceilings.

  • Occasional requirement to work within the environmental conditions of a computer data center and the related noise, temperature and humidity exposures of those environments.

  • Lifting and transporting of moderately heavy objects, such as computers and peripherals.

The Manager of Engineering, Network Operations Center contributes to the overall success of the company by overseeing the day-to-day activities of the NOC, providing positive team direction, prioritizing workload and resources to meet objectives; proactively maintaining the integrity of the network; develop both short- and long- term goals for their assigned group; oversee project management; actively participate in budget management, coordinate the development of standards with their peers, develop and issue reports and notifications, and lead major network recovery efforts. The Manager of Engineering, Network Operations Center plays a catalyst role in building a strong team by utilizing routine coaching sessions and assisting with progressive career development progress and establishing training requirements for their team in conjunction with the leaders of the IT organization. The position assists in developing new tools, processes, and planning/scheduling workload execution. A successful Manager of Engineering, Network Operations Center promotes a healthy work environment and is the voice of the front-line employee. The position requires a solid leader with good active listening skills and is ultimately accountable to both internal and external customers for the results his/her team delivers. Summary of Key Responsibilities Responsibilities and essential job functions include, but are not limited to the following: * Supervises day-to-day activities of the Tier 1 and Tier 2 NOC technicians (prioritizes workloads, resource planning, overseeing daily/weekly activities, approve time, etc.), Service Level Agreement (SLA), Mean Time to Repair (MTTR), alarm recovery Monitors quantity and quality of work performed by NOC technicians. * Providing strategic and technical oversight to a team responsible for incident management, technology implementation, ITIL process management and, performance management and customer service. * Coaches and develops direct reports, fostering a team environment and a culture of excellence. Conducts ongoing coaching and career development with direct reports (bi-weekly/monthly 1-1 coaching, quarterly reviews, quarterly goal-setting, etc.). Promotes rewards and recognition programs. * Ensures compliance with and adherence to all policies and procedures including all internal NOC procedures. * Promotes fiscal responsibility. Actively manages operational expenses (overtime, reward and recognition, training) and ensures that all work stations, displays, and applications, and the general NOC environment is maintained or faults are reported in a timely manner to the responsible teams. and follows up on the repair efforts. * Actively participates and solicits input in identifying and eradicating inefficiencies and low value efforts (waste) to drive team effectiveness. * Ensures NOC goals are met by prioritizing and managing projects, regional teams and vendors. * Serves as escalation point for all NOC issues. * Maintains engagement even when off shift and remains aware of conditions affecting the NOC on a 7 x24 basis unless on PTO or otherwise assigned. Audits and maintains integrity of operations-centric data in all engineering systems, including proper closure of tickets/tasks. Qualifications Required: * 4+ years technical experience providing operations or engineering support in video distribution network, telecommunications, data systems, or mobile switching systems infrastructures. * Minimum Required * Strong knowledge of troubleshooting techniques * Working knowledge of overall network architecture and an understanding of video distribution signal flow and its components * Leadership and coaching skills; fosters teamwork and cross-functional cooperation to create a positive work environment * Ability to create and refine processes and procedures by applying critical thinking and objective analysis. * Ability to prioritize tasks/activities, adapt to change, and refocus to recover quickly * Basic computer skills; proficient in Microsoft Office 365, including Excel. * Excellent communication, documentation, interpersonal, and team development, and negotiation skills; ability to interact with people of varying backgrounds, technical abilities, languages, and cultures; must be able to read and write effectively in English at a business-professional level.
