Are you great at troubleshooting technical problems? If so, we have an amazing opportunity for you in our Network Operations Center (NOC)! Our NOC is seeking to fill a critical role of Network Operations Center Administrator to monitor and troubleshoot digital billboards across the country. You'll work alongside a handful of other NOC Administrators and report to the NOC Team Leader.

Compensation Information:

The starting rate for this position is $15.50 / hour - commensurate, dependent on relevant experience. This position offers on-call pay as it requires one week of on call nights per month including 1 Saturday and Sunday shift.

Position Purpose:

We're very proud of our digital billboard inventory across the country. This position is responsible for monitoring and troubleshooting digital billboards to make sure they're all running at peak proficiency!

A day in the life:

The NOC Administrator identifies digital display malfunctions, opening & servicing call tickets accordingly. We have designated Digital Technicians in our offices across the company, so the NOC Administrators partner with them to resolve any digital billboard malfunctions.

Our NOC Administrators also field internal customer issues, and coordinate vendor relationships with digital display manufacturers.

Requirements:

With the fluctuating nature of technology, the perfect candidate should be self-motivated and dependable, possessing the organizational ability to multi-task and prioritize their workload as issues arise. Of course, computer proficiency is key for this role.

As this is an internally customer-focused position, energy, enthusiasm, and a personable customer service focus is important. Strong written and verbal communication skills are important to communicate with local Lamar offices across the country and our vendors.

Finally, we function as a team, so you must be a team player! There will be times when you work on issues alone, so independence from a team is important as well.


Education and Experience

Requirements:
  • Associates degree or some college preferred

  • Customer service experience required

  • Previous technical support experience preferred

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

  • The primary work environment is an office.

  • The physical demands for this position include light lifting, seeing (with a focus on reading), sitting more than 50% of the time, talking, and walking.

  • Nights spent traveling, away from home, are less than 10%

Four years of related experience can be used in lieu of a degree. Must have a minimum of five years' experience in a hosting environment, data center, help desk, NOC or comparable environment to include at least three years' experience troubleshooting networks and/or servers. In-depth knowledge of VMware, Windows, Linux, CA Spectrum, SharePoint and security concepts required. Must have working knowledge of a variety of server and storage technologies along with network essentials. In-depth knowledge of IP networks and Nortel and Cisco networks required. Must have experience with LAN / WAN technologies. Knowledge of standard networking, systems and database principles required. ACCOUNTABILITIES & ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Troubleshoots Tier 2 and 3 tickets along with other escalated tickets to ensure quick problem resolution. When unable to resolve the issue, leads the effort and tracks the resolution to ensure problem determination and resolution steps are being taken Responsible for day-to-day oversight of operations to include monitoring/tracking infrastructure and related incidents that are more complex to ensure data center environment availability and all hardware and software infrastructure requirements are being met. Responsible to mentor and train NOC staff of existing and new applications and technologies. Partners with other teams and leads in resolving more complex issues in order to mitigate infrastructure and business services down time. Drives efficient resolution of all incidents to ensure timely resolution and ensures all resolutions are documented according to standards and closed as required. Responsible for reviewing incidents and requests to ensure we are resolving in a timely manner across all NOC teams. Ensures operations notification and escalation procedures are accurately followed and then audits escalation procedures to ensure quality standards are met. Leads all shift turnover meetings and ensures all open incidents are documented and any outstanding issues are turned over to the oncoming shifts. Completing all shift checks as documented to ensure successful conclusion within each shift period has been accomplished. Designs, creates scripts, tests, maintains, troubleshoots, documents, trains, and leads projects on new or existing integrated information systems with some supervision for NOC Engineers and Operators at various levels of complexity to maintain quality enterprise business solutions of application architectures with a working knowledge of interface systems. Produces, plans, and leads quality enterprise information systems of application architectures with a working knowledge of interface systems that meet or exceed client expectations on operations and strategic projects.
