The primary purpose of this position is to lead the technical remediation efforts for major Incidents that are escalated up through the Service Desk. This includes being able to provide technical support for Windows and Linux/Unix servers, the virtualization environment these servers run in.
The ability to understand Enterprise environments and how the various components operate and are dependent on each other is a major area of responsibility. In addition, this position has the responsibility of patching the various Linux/Unix servers around the company within the established monthly timeframe.
ResponsibilitiesMonitor and alert on device and performance issues Led technical bridge calls to remediate Major Incidents Troubleshoot basic Microsoft Windows server issues Troubleshoot Linux and Unix server issues Troubleshoot basic network and firewall issues Create monthly and quarterly reporting Documentation of issue resolution using the service desk ticketing system Provide analysis and recommendations to customers on major problems or incidents with various technologies
The Ideal Candidate will Possess the Following Additional Education and ExperienceHigh school diploma with 4 years of experience, or Bachelor's degree with 2 years of experience 3+ years setup, configuration, troubleshooting of workstations or servers and network nodes in enterprise environments (5000+ endpoints) Knowledge and experience in Enterprise Operations Environments Proven troubleshooting capabilities, being able to identify at which layer an issue is occurring Experience remotely supporting Microsoft Windows Server OS Experience remotely supporting Linux Server OS Experience with patching Linux servers and Solaris servers Experience working in a structured, process-driven environment Preferred Knowledge/Skills/Experience: Experience supporting Windows 2008 2016 Server in both physical and virtual environments Experience supporting Oracle RedHat or CentOS Linux environments Additional Skills (Combination of any of the below) Scripting Python, Powershell, Bash, VB etc Monitoring Tools Splunk, ExtraHop, AppDynamics, ScienceLogic etc Network F5, Palo Alto, CheckPoint, Cisco Telephony Experience AWS Experience or CertificationEEO StatementEEO Statement:
