Summary

We are looking for a skilled Network Operations and Engineering Manager. This role is responsible for directing and leading both physical and logical engineering deliverables.

This position must drive adherence to and the use of standards, product sets, templates, systems and artifacts which are important elements to achieving successful outcomes. This position will interface directly with internal and external customers, architecture and engineering teams, deployment and product/service management, operations, vendors, consultants, and contractors. Strong written, verbal and presentation skills are a must. The Network Manager is a "thought-leader" and must be able to represent the strategic vision and goals of the organization.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

Seven (7) to nine (9) years of experience in data center operations or network design and administration, depending on assignment, including prior supervisory experience. Previous experience managing a logically complex network environment of a large physical scale.

Experience managing a large user base of 5000+ employees. Experience with design and development of technology architecture roadmaps and maintains existing roadmaps. Gives updates to Associate Director and makes presentations to Management regarding roadmaps.

Experience and proven track record of managing operational and capital budgets. Leads and supports team of highly technical Network Engineers through mentoring, one on one meetings, training, professional development and career planning. Supervises costs/benefits analyses of installing in-house communications systems versus common carriers.

Evaluates installation of all new and upgraded systems. Oversees the installation and repair of communications networks. Experience with vendor management as well negotiating contracts with vendors.

Demonstrated skill in the development of long-range plans for communications systems. Proven skillset applying principles and operating policies to provide solutions to more complex telecommunications and data network issues. Requires ability to communicates status of communications projects to senior management.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Previous supervisory/managerial experience. Proven skillset in motivating and leading staff and providing direction for their professional growth and development in order to meet their career objectives.

Demonstrated skill in developing long-range plans and budgets for Network future state and proven skills in the management of multiple and overlapping short and long term projects. A strong track record of executing in dynamic and fast-paced environments. In-depth experience in the application of network design, including knowledge of major protocols, topology design, network hardware, device configuration and traffic engineering.

Strong skills in Scripting required; Python, Ansible, PowerShell Deep understanding of ITIL; has participated in design and/or deployment of major IT projects. Experience with SDN; ACI/NSX, ClearPass, and Onguard Experience in various equipment manufacturers including but not limited to CISCO, Juniper, Arista, HP/Aruba, etc. Automation Skills - Expect, Rancid, REST/SOAP Maintain network asset inventory to include support and licenses and develop life cycle management processes to replaced end of life hardware.

Ensure the support and enforcement of role-based access on all network devices. Ensure the compliance of multi-factor authentication and audit logging on all network assets and systems. Collaborate with Cyber Security on initiatives for securing network infrastructure and network architecture.

Preferred Qualification

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field

Minimum Qualifications

High School Graduate or Equivalent and eleven (11) years of related work experience OR 2 Year College Degree and nine (9) years of related work experience OR Bachelor's Level Degree and seven (7) year of related work experience OR Master's Level Degree and five (5) year of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience that provides the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the essential job duties.
