Manager of Wireless Networking is a position responsible for supervising analysts in the design, configuration, and maintenance of the LSU Wireless network, and ensuring proper trouble resolution, and project life cycle. The manager would also play a key role in the design and architecture of the LSU Backbone Network and participates with Information Technology Services Management in the planning, development and implementation of the future campus network infrastructure. Professional development and training of all Network maintenance analysts is also part of this position.

Supervision: Responsible for supervising analysts in the design, configuration, and maintenance of the LSU Wireless Network controllers, access points, switches, routers, authentication services and monitoring tools that comprise the LSU Wireless Network.

Responsible for documentation; capacity planning and life-cycle funding; Evaluation of new Wireless technologies to remain state of the art and in line with LSU's Flagship Agenda. Collaborates with leadership in the planning, development and implementation of the future wireless network and campus backbone infrastructure.

(...Supervision): Responsible for assisting with the design, configuration, and maintenance of the LSU Network. Professional development and training of all Network Maintenance analysts; Evaluation of new technologies to remain state of the art, and in line with the LSU's Flagship Agenda and associated research proposals.

Operations: Responsible for trouble ticket resolution, trouble shooting, and diagnostics of all network components on the LSU Baton Rouge Campus, including but not limited to wireless networking and wired networking.

Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering/ Computer Science or closely related field. 3 years experience with wireless networking. 3 years managerial experience in an enterprise networking environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

5 years experience with wireless networking.

Certifications/Licenses:

Cisco CCNA Wireless Certification : Preferred.

ITIL Foundation Certification : Preferred to have or to obtain within first 6 months of hire.

Special or Physical Qualifications (if applicable):

Per University Policy Statement 18 this position is deemed essential to campus operations and will be required to report to or remain on campus during times of emergency or closure.
