Network Management Engineer

Key Role:

Plan, design, implement, and maintain data and voice telecommunications systems. Perform a variety of engineering studies and analysis and recommend hardware and software improvements to the overall network design. Study traffic to determine optimal system configurations. Apply advanced principles, theories, and concepts to job assignments and contribute to the development of new ideas and principles. Solve uniquely complex problems while working under consultative direction.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Experience in providing technical leadership for the IP network design and implementation of physical and logical communications solutions with network-wide impact

  • Experience with establishing data center communications infrastructure and network management elements

  • Experience with the design and implementation of Type I and Type III cryptograpic architectures

  • Knowledge of fiber optic communications, switched networks, network management, and network control systems

  • TS/SCI clearance

  • BA or BS degree in Engineering or CS and 15+ years of experience with network management for the DoD or intelligence community (IC)

Additional Qualifications:

  • Active Certified Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) Certification, including CCNP Data Center and CCNP Routing and Switching

This positions also develops algorithms used in modules or incorporated into models associated with the research and development of technologies and systems involving one or more of the following areas: traditional circuit switched networks; data networks; access technologies; wireless systems; the media to carry such services; the protocols required for the completion of transport and services; operation of networks; management of network resources; provisioning of resources; traffic and/or performance modeling of such networks.<br /> <br /> <strong>Domain Skills:</strong><br /> • Experience with enterprise level network design, engineering and administration <br /> • Experience with common networking devices such as firewalls, switches, and fabric interconnects.
