This position supports the infrastructure and security teams, with a reliable and secure network. This position is key in maintaining both cloud and on-premise network systems with a thorough knowledge of other infrastructure elements such as application services and Microsoft infrastructure services, and how they traverse network systems for optimal capability.

Essential Duties Job Functions

Primary Duty

  • Oversees the health of the network for cloud and on-premise systems

  • Maintains routine patching, updates, backups and security of network systems

  • Stays abreast of regulatory requirements for NIST 800-171 and CMMC

  • Coordinates with Infrastructure and security on helpdesk ticket resolution

  • Provides technical guidance for changes and operations

  • Develops processes to ensure the resiliency of network systems

Secondary Duty

  • Manages web filtering settings and monitoring of malicious traffic

  • Establishes procedures for routine updates, baselines, and operations for network systems

  • Coordinates with contractors to support phone systems

  • Responsible for Fax and eFax solutions

  • Ensures that phone numbers are tracked and e911 updates are current

  • Assists helpdesk personnel in the triage of tickets related to networking

  • Monitors network traffic for anomalies and improvements

  • Extensive knowledge of:

  • Networking concepts, design, and implementation

  • Cyber Security elements associated with networking

  • Azure Cloud Networking

  • Identity and access management integrations with network devices, including multifactor authentication

  • Skilled in effectively managing and prioritizing work

  • Strong organization skills

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Ability to communicate effectively with individuals and groups

  • Ability to work with a team or independently with little or no supervision

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality

Knowledge, Skills, Experience


  • 8 years of professional IT experience with at least 3 in the networking field

  • Current Security+ or other IAT 2 certification, or the ability to obtain within 3 months of hire

  • Current network certification such as Network+, CCNA, or other recognized strong entry level certifications showing a solid understanding of network

  • Good working knowledge of network systems such as routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs

  • Good working knowledge of cloud networks, virtual networks, hybrid integrations

  • Experience working project management methodologies

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Possession of and ability to maintain a valid US Driver's License and good driving record

  • The ability to pass a background check


  • Associates Degree in an IT or other technical field

  • Azure cloud training and certifications with emphasis on networking

  • SANS certifications with applicable emphasis on networking

  • CCNA Security or Fortinet certifications

  • IAT Level 3 Certification

Conducting work assignments as directed under close supervision. Must have comprehensive understanding of install, configure, and support of networks; LAN/WAN. Monitor, maintain systems, applications, security and network configurations; network performance conduct analysis and testing and ensure secure and reliable operation following telecommunications technologies; ability to escalate to higher level administrators, management as needed and be able to aid more senior level teams. * Provides event tracking, notification, simple remediation, and escalation support to a higher-level network administrator. Notifies technical support groups and participates in maintaining status of network systems. * 1Provide daily summary report of events and system documentation updates. Minimum qualifications: * Minimum four years' experience within a technical LAN/WAN Networking Operations; computer systems, or relevant environment. Telecommunications experience highly valued. * High school diploma or equivalent required. * Associate degree in Telecommunications, Computer Science or related field required. Or, a combination of relevant work experience and/or education sufficient to perform the duties of the job may substitute to meet the total years required on a year-for-year basis. Certifications: Industry specific certifications are highly valued and contributes toward education.
