What you'll be doing...

You will join the Core Network Engineering team with responsibilities in the Pacific and North Central Markets. You will assume engineering responsibilities for one or more COINs and work closely with the Capacity Planning, Design and Operations teams to implement our strategic technology goals and transition to the eNSE platform.

  • Working to create an environment of teamwork and cooperation with all stakeholders including; territories, edge, design and ME.

  • Being visible and leading by example.

  • Working to support our evolution to automation by leveraging and driving Programmable networking, Pronghorn, NTVS applications, and orchestration capabilities.

What we're looking for...

You'll need to have

  • Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.

  • Four or more years of relevant work experience.

Even better if you have

  • A degree.

  • Experience with Global Network Engineering IP Edge Engineering functions.

  • Capacity Engineering & Planning for short and long term projects.

  • Experience with project oversight and ownership.

  • Experience overseeing network builds from procurement to "In Service"

  • Financial procurement and Network BOM (Bill of Material) development experience.

  • Demonstrated strong Interaction with design and architecture teams developing future networks.

  • Developed network configurations from design models and templates.

  • Worked on cross functional teams to develop network automation using Python, NSO, Ansible, and other tools like DCNM, VTS, Prongorn, NSO, and Nuage.

  • Worked with cross functional teams to ensure new networks are built, migrated and decom'd.

  • Worked on engineering and deploying directional networks for Intelligent Edge, including but not limited to: SAP ENSE Fabric, Access ENSE fabric, ISP, NNI and Core connectivity.

  • Built networks for interconnection to VCP platforms for growth, capacity and expansion.

  • Worked with underlay and overlay controllers for network creation, network modeling, and network deployments. Leveraged plug ins for network deployments across multiple virtualized OS environments.

  • Experience with engineering network solutions with a strong interaction with PNF and VNF applications teams.

  • Demonstrated a strong ability to understand end to end call flows for deploying network services.

Our Walnut Creek, CA office is seeking a Lead Project Engineer, Transmission Line Engineering to join our team. Your Key Responsibilities * Serve as Project Engineer and/or Manager on transmission projects of varying size and complexity up to 500kV. * Apply knowledge of utility client standards, current industry codes and standards as well as design best practices in the development of transmission line design construction packages. * Act as resident expert user of software from Power Line Systems, Ensoft, FAD, and other software packages as required. * Develop discipline specific engineering and technical standards, practices, procedures, and techniques. Supervise the activities of Walnut Creek transmission engineering team to include resource planning and scheduling with other offices and follow up on work results. * Will be responsible for mentoring, training, and retaining qualified staff and will work with leadership to achieve team growth objectives. * Work across disciplines to apply knowledge of transmission line routing and siting, structure design and analysis, conductor design/optimization, foundation design and development of construction bid packages. * Interact and develop working relationships with clients as needed. * May participate in strategic planning initiatives. Your Capabilities and Credentials * A minimum of 7 years experience in utility transmission line design. - Eligibility to obtain or registration as a Professional Engineer is required. - Expert user of PLS-CADD, PLS-TOWER, PLS-POLE, as well as LPile, FAD Tools, and Microsoft Office Suite. * Demonstrated ability to make decisions quickly, juggle multiple tasks communicate in a clear and concise manner, and provide effective leadership. * Must be comfortable making group presentations to various audiences. * Must be able to travel as needed. Education and Experience * A Bachelor's of Science degree in Electrical or Civil Engineering or related field. * A minimum of 7-10 years experience working in a multi-discipline, consulting engineering environment demonstrating increased levels of responsibility. * Minimum of 2 years managing engineering staff, projects and clients.
