What You'll Do
You're a highly motivated and experienced Network Engineer. You will working with the Network Engineering Manager. Your primarily responsible will be developing and fast-growing the infrastructure supporting the BroadCloud Unified Communication service portfolio.
Your role will also act as escalation for in-life issues and work to improve the quality and reliability of the BroadCloud service and minimize support cases.
With access to the latest Cisco Networking technologies you'll help the infrastructure team drive improvement and expansion in our global network to support the constantly evolving service profile in collaboration with the wider BroadCloud Engineering group.
Essential duties and responsibilities:
Development, Deployment, Integration and Testing of new BroadCloud products and services.
Maintenance and in-life changes to existing BroadCloud infrastructure
Debugging of service/system issues to identify causes and solutions in a timely manner
Element and system dimensioning and capacity forecasting
Maintain accurate documentation for both internal and customer use
Work closely with Engineering and customer Project Management teams whilst on-boarding new customers or making changes, in-line with your responsibilities.
Responsible to perform all the duties of the role on an "as needed" basis to ensure SLA's and customer expectations are met.
To act as an escalation, point for the internal teams
Organize and prioritize workload
Communicate with suppliers
Encourage best practice
Keep abreast of relevant vendor developments and establish strategies and plans to proactively evolve the network and remain technologically current
Keep abreast of relevant industry standards and be able to apply these standards as necessary
Who You'll Work With
The BroadCloud Infrastructure Engineering team is a globally distributed group working collaboratively to improve and develop the BroadCloud offer. Making use of the best Cisco has to offer by integrating these products with the wider spectrum of 3rd Party services to provide a best in class Cloud service.
With a depth of Service Provider experience the team leverages this to drive innovation whilst maintaining core service.
Who You Are
You are a highly inquisitive, motivated and driven person who takes time to research and understand the detail individually. Self-disciplined to manage multiple tasks in parallel with minimal oversight, yet capable of working collaboratively in a team possibly in a leading role with a proven record of delivering large scale projects.
At a minimum we expect you to have a BA/BS, or equivalent, 5 years' experience delivering network services in a service provider setting. You should have an in-depth knowledge of Cisco firewall/router/switches and ideally Juniper equivalent as well as underlying network protocols and principles.
A demonstrated record of participation in large scale infrastructure deployment projects.
Must be a US citizen who can be certified to work on federal environments.
Our minimum requirements for this role:
At least 5 years of Telecommunications experience
Experience with engineering and operating networks and associated components
Experience with IP networking includes routers, switches, and firewalls
Skills, knowledge & attributes:
Knowledge of TCP/IP networking including protocols IPSec, HSRP/VRRP, BGP, OSPF, MPLS and LDP are essential.
Significant experience and working knowledge of Firewall, Routing and Switching infrastructure, both Cisco and Juniper is critical
Experience of F5 BIG-IP would be desired
Operational understanding of Cisco ACI is desired
Pervious experience working in a service provider atmosphere a plus
Must have excellent verbal communication and writing skills in English
Candidate must show the ability to collaborate in a team environment
Knowledge of troubleshooting tools and interpreting protocol traces
Knowledge of data center network architecture design and implementation principles
Ability to create and maintain clear and easily understandable documentation within the scope of the position
Willingness to work non-standard hours as needed for system changes and deployments
