Job Description

CACI is looking for a highly motivated Network Engineer (Lead) in the MD area. Join the CACI to lead your team in protecting data, software, and hardware by coordinating, planning and implementing network security measures.

What You'll Get to Do:

  • Establish Network information requirements using analysis of the Network engineer(s) in the development of enterprise-wide or large-scale networking infrastructure (CAN, MAN, WAN).

  • Design architecture to include the software, hardware and communications to support the total requirements as well as provide for present and future cross-functional requirements and interfaces.

  • Ensure these Network systems are compatible and in compliance with the standards for open systems architectures, the Open Systems Interconnection (OSI) and International Standards Organization (ISO) reference models and profiles of standards - such as Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE) Open Systems Environment (OSE) reference model - as they apply to the implementation and specification of Information Management (IM) solution of the network layers, across the application program interface (API) and the external environment/software application.

More About the Role:

  • Ensure that the network/transport layers of the common operating environment are compliant.

  • Evaluate analytically and systematically problems of work flows and network usage, organization and planning and develops appropriate corrective action.

  • Provide daily supervision and direction to staff.

You'll Bring These Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related discipline (e.g. Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Network Engineering, Math)

  • Nine years direct experience.

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in Satellite Communications

  • ITIL Foundations certification required. must be current or able to be obtain within 90 days of start date.

  • DoD Approved 8570 Baseline IAT Level I or Level II certification.

The Network Engineer will support the design, development, integration and test of a ground warfighting (Army) tactical network topography (formerly termed WIN-T) to include connections to higher echelon transport equipment. The Network Engineer will support the project lead in the design, development, configuration, integration and test of tactical network systems and topography. Responsibilities: * Installs, operates, and maintains all lab Tactical Network and higher echelon transport equipment. * Facilitates connections to remote sites and coordinates efforts with JOIN, NetMod, FBCB2 NOC, DCGS, EXT Customers over the DREN and NEC * Loads all firmware/updates for Tactical Network systems * Installs, operates, and maintains lab equipment * Loads and recommends validation of all data products * Performs functional routing, gateway, and performance testing of the Tactical Network * Provides feedback on data product problems * Assists with test execution, drafts test plans and reports * Maintain lab Network Backbone (Switches, Routers, Firewalls) as well as the Tactical Network (Switches, Routers, Firewalls and inter/intra connects) * Deploys router and switch configurations modeled after the TNAC files and PDSS drops from GD * Modifies lab networking equipment to integrate with external facilities * Works with Tactical Network personnel to make modifications to baseline configuration files as required by the customer's findings and as directed by the project lead * Documents network and updates as changes occur * Provides network diagrams and other documentation as required * Troubleshoots customer support issues as they arise * Troubleshoots network issues with NOC personnel as they arise * Troubleshoots external network issues as they arise Requirements Required Skills: Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the following areas: * Strong understanding of Army Tactical Networks (formerly WIN-T) systems/architecture products. * Cisco Experience to include: Cisco IOS and NXOS, Cisco ISE, Cisco UCS Networking and Configuration, Cisco ASA. * Strong understanding of Routing Protocols BGP, OSPF, RIP, EIGRP as well as proficiency in MULTICAST; a background with designing and implementing LANs and VLANs. * Detailed experience with network protocol analysis using Sniffer, wireshark or similar tool. * Strong VMWare skills: VMware Networking * Strong knowledge of Serial, TCP and IP protocols * Ability to write test plans and technical reports pertaining to the networking products * System engineering background, defining functionality requirement traceability * Networking: TCP/IP, OSPF, BGP, 802.X,RIP, GM-MPLS, Data content routing Preferred Skills: * System engineering background, defining functionality requirement traceability * Networking: TCP/IP, OSPF, BGP, 802.X,RIP, GM-MPLS, Data content routing * Knowledge and experience with WAVE voice interoperability solution desirable Required Experience: * Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
