This Individual will be responsible for network design and setup. This upfront work will consist of approximately two full days. After this, the individual will be needed on an on-call basis for maintaining and upgrading networks. Work location will be at a Cross Campus location in El Segundo, California.

Requirements

  • 5 7 years of network administration experience required.
  • Experience with Palo Alto firewalls
  • Experience with network management, analysis and troubleshooting tools
  • Experience in patch management
  • Experience in the deployment of firmware and security configurations using automation
  • Experience with development of project documentation to include standard operating procedures, project plans, and network diagrams
  • Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills, analytical and problem-solving skills, written and verbal communication abilities
  • Strong networking background
  • Strong troubleshooting skills
  • Strong documentation skills

Responsibilities The Aerospace Corporation's Network Systems Department (NSD) is seeking innovative and creative thinkers and problem solvers to join our growing organization. Our department specializes in development of innovative concepts and solutions for future space network architectures. You will have exciting opportunities to get involved in the development of future space network concepts, architectures, prototyping, and technology demonstrations. A qualified candidate would possess a solid theoretical background wireless communications network with knowledge of the latest trends in machine learning, AI, and IoT concepts and technologies. This is an entry-level position for anyone who is interested in learning and developing strong technical knowledge in full Space and Ground network systems development lifecycle. Key Functions * Participate in various network systems engineering tasks and projects through network systems architecture, development, analysis, modeling & simulation, integration & test, and prototype development/validation * Support development of innovative concepts and algorithms in supporting areas of network/mission management systems, network routing, network mobility, network performance/reliability analysis, traffic modeling, software-defined networking, network protocols, network resiliency, and network security * Develop presentations and reports to clearly communicate with internal and external customers * Participate in special projects and research & development (R&D) projects to develop the next generation of Space and Ground network concepts, architectures, and technologies * Utilize network simulation and emulation testbeds to investigate new technologies and assess system performance * Support sustainment and development of core network simulation, emulation, and modeling capabilities Qualifications Required * Degree from an accredited university in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or another related discipline * 2 or more years of professional experience * Proficiency in multiple software languages * Basic knowledge of networking concepts, network analysis methods and tools, network protocols, and emerging technologies * Excellent verbal and written English language skills, effective communication skills, and ability to interact well in group meeting/working environments * Ability to present results effectively in briefings and technical reports * Ability to obtain a security clearance which is issued by the U.S. government - U.S. citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance Preferred * Advanced technical degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline from an accredited university * Modeling & Simulation experience in MATLAB, SignalPro, Python, and/or OPNET * Experience with network routers/switches, virtual servers, and cloud computing * Experience with network protocols including TCP/IP, IPsec, and IPv4/6 Transcript Requirement Transcripts are required for this position.
