Responsibilities:

  • Network Design and Implementation:

    • Design and implement scalable and resilient network solutions, including LAN, WAN, and wireless networks, to meet current and future business requirements.

    • Configure and deploy network devices, such as routers, switches, firewalls, and access points, following best practices and security standards.

  • Network Troubleshooting and Maintenance:

    • Diagnose and resolve network issues, including connectivity problems, performance bottlenecks, and security vulnerabilities.

    • Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as firmware upgrades, patch management, and configuration backups, to ensure network reliability and security.

  • Network Monitoring and Optimization:

    • Monitor network performance and traffic patterns, using network monitoring tools, to identify areas for optimization and improvement.

    • Optimize network configurations, routing protocols, and Quality of Service (QoS) settings to enhance network performance and efficiency.

  • Security and Compliance:

    • Implement and maintain network security measures, such as access controls, encryption, and intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), to protect against cyber threats and unauthorized access.

    • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements related to network security and data privacy.

  • Documentation and Knowledge Sharing:

    • Document network configurations, diagrams, and procedures to maintain an accurate and up-to-date inventory of network assets and configurations.

    • Share knowledge and expertise with team members and stakeholders through training sessions, documentation, and collaboration.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

  • 2-5 years of experience in network engineering roles, with hands-on experience in designing, implementing, and troubleshooting network infrastructure.

  • Strong understanding of networking concepts and protocols, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, and routing protocols (e.g., OSPF, BGP).

  • Experience with network hardware and software, such as Cisco, Juniper, Palo Alto, and Aruba.

  • Familiarity with network security principles and best practices, including firewall configurations, VPNs, and security policies.

  • Proficiency in network monitoring and troubleshooting tools, such as Wireshark, Nagios, and SolarWinds.

  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to identify and resolve complex network issues.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

Additional Requirements:

  • Certifications such as CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate) or equivalent are preferred.

  • Experience with cloud networking technologies and platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) is a plus.

  • Knowledge of software-defined networking (SDN) concepts and technologies is desirable.

  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.

  • Commitment to staying updated on emerging networking technologies and best practices.

  • Willingness to participate in on-call rotation and occasional after-hours maintenance activities.
