GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: FLSA: Exempt

Supports District schools and principals in their effort to foster an optimal educational environment for students. Installs and manages daily operations for all technology systems throughout the District, including systems for remote learning.

MAJOR TASKS:

  • Responsible for data communications networks including security.

  • Responsible for resolution of computer or network-related problems such as inoperative hardware or software.

  • Coordinates with vendors to solve hardware and software problems and to provide hardware repairs, preventive maintenance, and upgrading when necessary.

  • Tests proposed software packages to determine compatibility with existing LAN, WAN,

  • and classroom applications.

  • Installs and maintains applications (including online learning and web based).

  • Manages hardware and software inventory, license records, and related reports.

  • Train key district employees in the use of new network hardware and software.

  • Monitors compliance with District policies and procedures as they relate to technology systems and data communications.

  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Level of knowledge and experience equivalent to that traditionally acquired through completion of a Bachelor's Degree in Technology Systems, Computer Science, or related field.

  • Minimum three years technology systems experience preferred.

  • Experience with network operation system support including cloud-based solutions, Google Workspace, Microsoft, and Linux platforms. Strong troubleshooting skills including interpersonal communication and team concepts, with a solutionsoriented and forward thinking disposition.

  • A rich experience with installing and maintaining local and wide area networks.
