What you'll be doing...

You will be responsible for the advanced installation, operation, and maintenance of the regional data network elements, ensuring network integrity and quality. These networks include Nokia and Alcatel Lucent LTE elements, routers, multilayer switches, MSPP, Ethernet and Ethernet backhaul. You will be troubleshooting; upgrading; administering these platforms and multiple vendor systems and technically lead during troubleshooting events.

  • Installs, operates, administers, and performs advanced maintenance of the regional data network elements.

  • Maintains systems, elements, and platform applications and provides support to a varied user community;

  • Updates daily logs with site-specific information.

  • Composes clear and concise reports for system documentation.

  • Participates in cross-functional projects as scheduled.

What we're looking for...

You'll need to have:

  • Associates degree or two or more years of work experience.

  • Three or more years of relevant work experience.

Even better if you have:

  • Technical degree, equivalent special electronics training, or equivalent work experience.

  • Certifications such as CCENT, CCNA or CCNP.

  • Intermediate training in at least 3 of the following areas: data networking and communications, wireless technologies, digital communications, operating systems and applications, telecommunications, and/or power distribution.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of data networking protocols including TCP/IP, OSI, OSPF, BGP, MPLS, BFD, SIP and other LAN/WAN protocols.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of data transmission facilities such as 1G and 10G native Ethernet, EBH (Ethernet Backhaul), and SONET.

  • Strong programming and computer skills with emphasis on applications.

  • Additional experience: Ericsson MTX, Motorola CDMA/EVDO, Nokia/Alcatel-Lucent LTE, and Tellabs DACS.

VIEW JOBS 10/12/2019 12:00:00 AM 2020-01-10T00:00 Requisition ID: 222952 Project Background Bechtel Parsons Blue Grass is the systems contractor selected by the Department of Defense's Assembled Chemical Weapons Alternatives program to design, build, systemize, test, operate, and close a facility to destroy the chemical weapons stockpile at the Blue Grass Army Depot in Richmond, Kentucky. The Blue Grass Chemical Agent-Destruction Pilot Plant (BGCAPP) will safely destroy 523 tons of mustard and nerve agent in projectiles and rockets. Neutralization followed by supercritical water oxidation is the technology selected by the Department of Defense to destroy the nerve agent, while the Explosive Destruction Technology will be used to destroy the mustard in the Blue Grass chemical weapons stockpile. Candidates for unescorted access to the Chemical Limited Area must successfully clear National Agency Check with Local Check (NACLC). All employees are subject and agree to random drug and alcohol testing as a condition of employment. The ability to obtain/maintain access to the Blue Grass Army Depot is required. Must be physically fit and able to work safely at an operating plant. Eligible applicants must be a US Citizen and successfully go through a government screening process. Based on project goals and objectives, candidates established within our local community are desirable. Role Overview The Blue Grass Chemical Agent-Destruction Pilot Plant (BGCAPP) is looking for a Network Infrastructure Engineer at the Richmond, KY site location. This position will report to the IS&T Manager the BGCAPP project. This BGAPP position falls under the scope of the McNamara-O'Hara Service Contract Act of 1965 (SCA). The SCA requires BGCAPP to provide employees with benefits and wages no less than the amounts the Department of Labor has established for the location and classification in which the employee will be working. This is a long-term assignment with a 4-10s schedule. The work hours are from 7:00am – 5:30pm. This position may require additional overtime hours as deemed necessary. BGCAPP operates on a 24/7 schedule. This position may be required to work a schedule of rotating shifts including nights, weekends or holidays. Principle responsibilities include, but are not limited to: * Plans, schedules and monitors own work within a limited time horizon, using applicable methods, procedures, tools, equipment and standards effectively with only occasional reference to others * Responds to customers' needs, questions and concerns in an accurate, effective and timely manner and expedites corrective actions * Recommend, Specify and Implement network and server equipment * Performs specific tasks while utilizing established information technology standards and methods * Works with system stakeholders to define timeframe requirements * Maintains change and configuration control of network components * Installs, tests and supports local area network /wide area network and telecommunications components such as data switches, routers, and/or firewall equipment * Develops network/telecommunications operating procedures and guidelines as they relate to communications (switching, routing, telecom, voice, video, data, firewalls) * Deploys, manages and configures firewall configurations * Deploys, manages, configures and monitors network analyzing tools * Assists in developing standard network/telecommunication device configurations, address schema development, monitoring tool configuration and deployment * Prepares preventative maintenance schedules and backup program necessary to ensure robust network/telecommunications environment * Assists in preparing operating procedures and guidelines for network equipment based upon operational experience * Installs and upgrades software/firmware and performs regular maintenance on network devices as required * Assures that all work processes are properly tracked to support cybersecurity program * Resolves problems and faults concerning installation of hardware, software or firmware * Recognize a potential security violation, take appropriate action to report the incident to supervision Basic Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related discipline from an accredited college or university and 1 year of professional, relevant experience in Network Systems. * In lieu of a degree, 7 years of professional, relevant experience in Network Systems * Must be a US Citizen. * Must be able to obtain and maintain any security clearances required for this position according to Army Regulation 50-6 (Chemical Surety). * Minimum Qualifications: * Extensive hands-on experience with design, implementation, performance tuning and troubleshooting with CISCO network switches, routers, and ASA firewalls required * Large scale local area network experience required. * Self-starter, willing to take ownership and work with minimal supervision * Ability to interpret engineering drawings * Strong knowledge of network infrastructure systems architecture concepts, configurations and standards * Working knowledge of corporate, industry and professional standards * Solid understanding of common networking & communication protocols and applications (TCP/UDP, IP, DNS, CIFS/SMB, VoIP, etc.) * Basic knowledge of project management concepts and tools * Ability to handle customer interactions in an accurate, effective and timely manner * Excellent Analytical ability and ability to articulate ideas and write clear and concise reports * CompTIA Security+ CE or capability to meet DODI 8570.01-M IAT II certification within 6 months of employment * Windows server administration experience working with domain controllers and backup and recovery software * Intermediate level of understanding and applying Microsoft Office Suite of applications * Working knowledge of Microsoft LDAP and Active Directory * Strong ability to produce logical and physical network diagrams using Microsoft Visio * Strong documentation skills using project provided templates * Ability to collaborate and maintain solid working relationships with internal and external peers * Works well with others both senior and junior in experience – both a good student and good teacher * Works well with Corporate Infrastructure Engineering team to complete mission Preferred Qualifications: * CompTIA Security+ CE certification * Experience supporting network and servers in an operating Integrated Controls System environment * Proficiency with Network Forensics and analysis tools Including: Splunk, GrassMarlin, Wireshare, and NMAP * Possess a current CISCO Certified Network Associate (CCNA) Certification or CCNA-Security certification * SSCP certification * 1+ years' experience with industrial control systems (Honeywell preferred) * 1+ years' experience with the following: * Technical Knowledge of RMF NIST SP 800-37 Rev. 1 * Technical Knowledge of NIST SP 800-82 Rev 1 and 2 (DRAFT) * Technical Knowledge of NIST SP 800-53 Rev. 4 * Other NIST 800 series guidance as it relates to supporting an RMF program This project is subject to the Army Regulations (AR50-6 Chemical Surety) which governs persons performing work under the Chemical Personnel Reliability Program (CPRP) and Unescorted Access Program (UAP). Depending on the work performed and the access granted a government security investigation and other physical requirements such as respirators may be mandated.
