Network Engineer Specialist

Work you'll do

Maintain network of Cisco products performing analysis, tuning, and maintenance tasks. Undertake special projects of creating new networks, subnets, VLANs, and VoIP Networks. Analyze network performance and undertake performance improvements. Working knowledge of switching methodology, and routed/ routing protocols. Perform tasks within with TCP/IP Windows / UNIX networking environment. Must have to ability to monitor and perform capacity management.

The team

Systems Engineering

Our Systems Engineering team delivers large-scale software applications and integrated systems, and assists clients with architecture design, assessment and optimization, and definition. We develop service-oriented architecture (SOA) and other integration solutions to enable information sharing and management between business partners and disparate processes and systems, and we deliver technology enablement to support CIO services transformation.

Systems Engineering professionals focus on key client issues that impact the core business by maximizing operational value, driving down the cost of quality, and enhancing technology innovation. Our teams deliver a wide range of services, including application architecture design and optimization, application modernization, business process management and solution integration, custom application design and development, and large-scale technology delivery program efforts.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree and at least 3 years of technology consulting or other relevant industry experience

  • Experience working independently with minimal supervision and guidance

  • Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills with experience exercising mature judgment

  • Proven experience effectively prioritizing workload to meet deadlines and work objectives

  • Demonstrated ability to write clearly, succinctly, and in a manner that appeals to a wide audience

  • Proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation creation tools, as well as Internet research tools

  • Proven experience effectively prioritizing workload to meet deadlines and work objectives

  • Experience working with business users to gather requirements, writing functional and technical specifications and communicating technical requirements

  • Experience working with storage, database, and server engineers.

  • Experience managing networks within a virtualization environment.

Preferred:

  • Degree in computer science, information systems, or other technology-related field

  • Ability to translate requirements into design specifications and experience in developing design documents

  • Software development experience using object-oriented languages (i.e., Java, C#, C++) and frameworks (i.e. J2EE or .NET)

  • Knowledgeable in software quality concepts such documenting source code and software language specific code quality practices

  • 6 to 8 years' experience maintaining networks and experience working in a datacenter environment.

  • Working experience with Cisco 6500, AnyConnect VPN, F5, VoIP, Nexus 5000, 7000, Check Point, Cisco CSM, MARS, ASA.

  • Additional knowledge and experience, VLAN, VTP, STP, TCP/IP, IPX/SPX, SMTP, ICMP, RIP, IGRP, OSPF, EIGRP.

  • CISCO certifications, Security+, and other security related certifications
