The Sr. Enterprise Network Engineer (ENE) is responsible for ensuring the operational stability of the Ocean Medallion Project's network infrastructure. The incumbent will be responsible for multiple aspects of the programs network infrastructure including configuration, performance tuning and optimization of the various network technologies supporting the program. The ENE will ensure that proper ITIL processes are followed to track changes, versions and upgrades to the network infrastructure, including making recommendations to improve processes when/where feasible. The incumbent functions as a Subject-Matter-Expert (SME) in support of various delivery teams, partners and vendors which rely on Ocean's networking technologies. The position is responsible for the execution of the network architecture and design strategies (roadmaps). Responsibilities include the planning, engineering, tuning, monitoring and optimization of enterprise Network systems and related components to achieve a high degree of resiliency, efficiency, and performance. The incumbent will support all network systems solution designs across all aspects of the technology landscape. This includes the delivery of multiple network scenarios for both ship-based, cloud and land-based platforms. Essential Functions: * Ability to execute on complex and strategic network strategies and roadmaps. * Expert knowledge on integration capabilities where feasible to other operations-related technologies for monitoring of the network such APM, ITIL and SaaS solutions. * A solid understanding of the strategies used to design, build and deliver networks in data-center, shore, cloud and edge-cloud application models. * Strong planning and execution skills to help advice teams per discipline tower: Security, WAN, Data Center, Campus, Cloud * Recommend network-related technology solutions which leverage existing IT investments to support business processes and information flows. * Identify areas to implement auto-remediation where feasible to reduce manual intervention and improve lead time to recover. * Create and maintain procedural, training, and architectural network information across multiple delivery channels such as documents, wikis and collaborative platforms. * Collaborate with multiple delivery partners to execute on projects in support of the program's deliverables. * Ensure the stability of network solutions to meet and/or exceed known requirements. * Analyze, and identify current network bottlenecks and propose improvements, recommend upgrades and/or acquisition of new technologies to enhance current network designs. * Work closely with teams, partners and vendors in identifying and mitigating escalated network issues. * Participate in problem resolution activities and Root Cause Analysis (RCA).
