Network Engineer
District Office
The Network Engineer will develop plans and implement the installation and maintenance of the district's network systems. The Network Engineer assists other network staff in implementing and changing current and future network needs; supports, monitors, tests and troubleshoots hardware and software problems and needs pertaining to the LAN/WAN; programs; configures, repairs and replaces network devices such as servers, hubs, switches, and routers; The Network Engineer develops and maintains programs that integrate student systems and administrative systems. The position coordinates the Information Systems Technicians day to day and project responsibilities; They facilitate communications between network, technician and software teams; They perform other duties as assigned by Director of Informaiotn Technology and Security.
Responsibilities (see job description)
Assess malfunctions of hardware and/or software applications for the purpose of determining appropriate actions to maintain computer and network operations.
Assist other personnel for the purpose of supporting them in the completion of their work activities.
Assist Senior Network Engineer in implementing and changing current and future network needs pertaining to the LAN/WAN/WAN for the purpose of maintaining appropriate district wide network services
Coordinate with other staff for the purpose of completing projects/work orders efficiently.
Direct the development and maintenance of programs that integrate student systems and administrative systems for the purpose of providing appropriate district wide network support services.
Inspect computer and network equipment requiring specialized computer repair and trouble shooting skills for the purpose of identifying and verifying repair needs.
Install computer and network equipment requiring specialized computer and network skills for the purpose of maintaining safe and effective computer labs and networks.
Prepare written materials (e.g. reports, memos, letters, etc.) for the purpose of documenting activities, providing written reference and/or conveying information.
Procure equipment, supplies and materials for the purpose of maintaining availability of required items and completing jobs efficiently.
Repair computers, peripherals, network equipment and software, requiring specialized computer and electronics repair skills for the purpose of maintaining computer and network equipment in a safe and functional operating condition.
Physical Requirements/Environmental Conditions
Work is performed in the office and in school facilities
Requires prolonged sitting, standing, or walking
May require physical exertion to manually lift, move, carry, pull, or push heavy objects or materials
Requires some travel (driving skills and physical ability to drive a vehicle required)
Must work in noisy and crowded environments
Qualifying Education/Experience
Targeted job related education that meets organization's prerequisite requirements
Job related experience within specialized field is required. Preference will be given the candidates with experience with Cisco Firepower, VMWare, Cisco switches and routers, Cisco Secure Endpoint, Nimble/HPE SANS, Microsoft SCCM, and Active Directory.
CISCO CCNA preferred

Salary Grade
Professional Technical Salary Schedule Range 17: :$ 64,000 - $85,000
Placement commensurate with experience
Exempt position
This is a full year/12 month position.
