SAIC is seeking candidates for the DISA Joint C2 Portfolio Systems Engineering (JC2) initiative which is comprised of four (4) major Department of Defense (DoD) programs: the Global Command and Control System-Joint (GCCS-J), the Global Combat Support System-Joint (GCSS-J), the Joint Planning and Execution Services (JPES), and the Global Command and Control System-Joint Enterprise (GCCS-JE). JC2 is an overarching approach for fulfilling requirements to provide systems engineering technical and management support for the planning, implementation, and execution of current and future enterprise Information Technology (IT) capabilities and computing services.

The candidate for this position provides solutions to a variety of technical problems of moderate scope and complexity where analysis of situations or data requires a review of the variety of factors.

The Network Engineer:

The candidate for this position possesses and applies expertise on multiple complex work assignments. Assignments may be broad in nature, requiring originality and innovation in determining how to accomplish tasks. Operates with appreciable latitude in developing methodology and presenting solutions to problems. May supervise others.

The Network Engineer:

  • Advanced knowledge of the principles, methods, and techniques used in the engineering, application, and development of multiple operating systems.

  • Analyzes computer software and hardware requirements to provide integration and implementation support through the design and development of new systems at a highly technical level.

  • Ensures that system are functioning according to design specifications. Analyzes and documents users' functional and data requirements.

  • Develops site survey instruments to gather detailed user requirements and business process analysis data.

  • Conducts functional user interviews to document functional, system, customization, and data requirements and data sources.

  • Determines data requirements for internal processes and external interfaces.

  • Develops new systems or tailors commercial products to meet user requirements.

  • Maps existing data structures and migrates legacy data to the new or tailored systems.

  • Develops and conducts tests to ensure systems meets documented user requirements.

  • Develops documentation to describe system requirements and use.

  • Provides technical support and diagnoses and resolves system problems.

  • Maintains current knowledge of relevant hardware and software applications, as assigned.

  • This position may permit occasional flexwork.


Required Qualifications:

  • 3-7 years' of experience in a relevant field to the requirement.

  • An active Secret Clearance.

  • Familiarity with Agile and or SAFe practices.

  • Any equivalent IAT-II certification.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Bachelors and two (2) years or more experience; Masters and 0 years or more experience

Title: Network Engineer Location: Fort Meade, MD SR# 2020-0184 JOB PURPOSE: Support the 16th Air Force, 70th ISR Wing at Fort George G. Meade, MD which conducts global ISR in air, space, and cyberspace. The 70 ISRW mission is to lead cryptologic mission through air, space, and cyberspace to create decision advantage and information warfare options for America. RESPONSIBLITIES: * Manage LAN/WAN, including the planning, analysis, acquisition, design, development, implementation, quality assurance, configuration, installation, integration, maintenance testing, operational integrity, or management of networked systems used for the transmission of information in voice, data, or video formats, as well as design and monitor new complex network systems, configure and install network hardware or software, and maintain LAN operations. * Perform feasibility studies on complex information systems and conduct in-depth analyses complicated by novel problem and keep abreast of emerging technology to predict future network needs. * Participate in management discussions, meetings, committees, or special projects as we support and ensure security of the DoD network. * Maintain Cisco/Juniper switches, including switching and routing. * Solve complex networking and administration issues and use critical thinking to support network functionality alongside System Administrators. * Plan and schedule the installation of new or modified hardware, operating systems, and applications software. * Maintain and resolve fiber optic and network cable issues while maintaining NIPR/SIPR networks. * Solve network security and security configuration and ensure network devices meet security compliance standards. * Maintain and resolve Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) interoperability issues. * Maintain systems configuration and manage the installation and integration of network system fixes, upgrades, and enhancements. * Follow the required guidelines provided in T.O 00-33A-1001 General Cyberspace Support Activities Management Procedures and Practice Requirements. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: * Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or other technical discipline and 8 + years of related experience. * 5+ years of experience with Cisco networks, including switching and routing. * 4+ years of experience with fiber optic capabilities and usage; and network management applications * 1+ year experience with Juniper, including switching and routing. * Information Assurance DOD 85701-M IAT Level II Certification. * CompTIA Security+ Certification. * Experience with Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) technology DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: * Experience with SolarWinds and with Junos Space Network Management Platform. * Knowledge of cryptologic principles or technologies. * Experience with PowerShell DHCP. * Experience with Asynchronous Transfer Mode (ATM) networks. * Knowledge of complex configuration management techniques and requirements appropriate to manage base level network systems. * Knowledge of DoD networks and DoD network limitations in an IT-related field. * VM Component Protection (VMCP) Certification. * Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) Certification. * Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) Certification. * CCIE Certification Experience with Air Component, Combatant Command, or Air Force Major Command intelligence requirements.
