Network Engineer with advanced knowledge of Cisco products, VPN?s, Network Security and Network Switches for our client in Dublin, Ca.

The Sr.

Network Engineer's function is within the Infrastructure team that supports the client's communications and core, and wireless and backbone network. The Sr.

Network Engineer will provide operational design consultation in the engineering process, infrastructure life cycle deployments and operational escalation support for the network. The Network Engineer will design reliability, performance, scalability, quality, and availability of the core, wireless and backbone network.

Responsibilities

Architect, document, deploy and maintain network infrastructure in support of service provider operations for customers requiring high uptime, and rapid disaster recovery.

Develop and migrate an Inter-vlan routed network into an MPLS based network. Document, deploy and maintain a Layer 2 and Layer 3 dynamically routed, highly available and fault tolerant network.

Implementation of wireless networking utilizing Cisco Wireless LAN Controllers

Implement, upgrade and monitor various wireless network devices/software/services

Implement, upgrade and monitor network intelligence tools like visibility switches, netflow, and packet capture

Collaborate with third-party support and service vendors to ensure that the network stays operational

Provide support for company routing, switching, WAN, WLAN and firewall systems

Leads reconfiguration efforts of Fortigate Palo Alto Networks Firewalls

Performs Gap Analysis of Network sites for the organization

Create and update network documentation using Visio and MS Word

Perform proactive maintenance on the network, work on task based and project based assignments

Job Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

7+ years of experience required in related field

CCNA or CCNP Certification

Experience implementing ASN and public IP space in a Multihome Multi Provider ISP

Expert in networking protocols such as BGP, OSPF, QoS, Multicast, MPLS (LDP, RSVP, CSPF, TE, P2MP, CBF, DMVPN, Auto-bandwidth, etc)

Expert in High Availability protocols such as BFD, Graceful Restart, Non-Stop Forwarding, VRRP, and MPLS FRR.

Extensive knowledge and operational experience of IP data L2/L3 switching architectures and technology

Extensive knowledge and operational experience in IP Switching and Routing Architectures

Extensive knowledge and operational experience in performance, fault, and configuration management

Must have extensive knowledge and operational experience on all or most of these platforms Cisco Platforms Catalyst, ASR, Nexus

Experience with production changes in a backbone core routing environment

Experience with testing traffic flows and protocols in a lab environment

Experience with physical technology upgrades (upgrading chassis, line cards, various FRUs, etc.)

Experience with Automation/Orchestration and scripting experience.

Must be able to work in a wide variety of circumstances and multitask: examples include having a flexible schedule, write various detailed documents, perform tasks and projects in both a team and solo environment, effective written and verbal communication skills, meet and manage timelines, etc.

Must be able to take on large and/or complex design and operational tasks

VIEW JOBS 10/22/2018 12:00:00 AM 2019-01-20T00:00 Position Summary The Network Engineer, reporting to the Senior Manager, IT Operations, will be part of a global network team and will be responsible for the overall design and resiliency of a complex and highly available global enterprise network. Responsibilities Responsibilities 25% - Design, implement, manage, monitor, troubleshoot and provide operational support for network infrastructure devices such as firewalls, routers and switches. 20% - Set global standards for both hardware and software to meet or exceed requirements as it pertains to performance, supportability, and security. 20% - Monitor network performance and troubleshoot problems as necessary. This monitoring responsibility includes being part of a 24x7 on-call support rotation. 20% - Create and maintain documentation on all aspects of network infrastructure including participation in the development of hardware, software and documentation standards. 15% - Interact with various parties in a consultative manner to gather and understand requirements in order to implement acceptable solutions. Qualifications * B.S. degree or equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience is preferred * CCNP certification or equivalent experience is preferred * 7 years experience in the design, configuration, implementation, management and monitoring of an enterprise network including VOIP and wireless * 5 years experience datacenter network architecture and design, network management and network support experience * 3 years hands on experience in design, configuration and management of enterprise level firewalls * 3 years experience designing, architecting, implementing, managing and monitoring private and public connectivity to multiple cloud providers * Technical Skills - * Strong understanding of WAN/LAN and transport technologies * Demonstrated experience with the Cisco family of products (Nexus/Catalyst switches, Routers, etc). * Strong knowledge in routing protocols, specifically EIGRP and BGP. * In depth experience with QoS and VOIP troubleshooting * SD-WAN implementation, migration and support experience * Strong understanding of monitoring tools (Solarwinds preferred). * Experience managing and troubleshooting wireless technologies * Experience working with load balancers and Palo Alto technologies * Knowledge of Cisco Unified Communications, ACI and UCS servers * Self-Management - Create, prioritize and execute multiple complex projects with changing workloads in a high-pressure environment and provide timely status. Conduct research on varied topics as required. * Reasoning - Strong analytical and problem solving skills with customer service orientation * Interpersonal Skills - Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills while working in a collaborative environment. Must also possess the ability to articulate technical information clearly and simply to non-technical people. * Teamwork -Maintain a collaborative approach in dealing with other Simpson Strong-Tie employees.
