Job Summary
The Network Engineer will assist with the design, implementation and maintenance of a multi-campus network to ensure network security, performance and availability. Diagnose and resolve complex network issues. Maintain and support configurations for security devices including firewalls, intrusion prevention system, and access control lists; Assist campus departments with special networking needs.
Required Qualifications
Knowledge of TCP/IP networking and layer 2 VLAN technologies.
Proven ability to maintain and troubleshoot data and voice networking hardware and software
Experience in installing, configuring, and troubleshooting ethernet switches, routers and wireless equipment.
Excellent communication skills.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with various levels of management.
Additional Considerations
Knowledge of routing protocols such as OSPF, EIGRP and BGP.
Experience managing Cisco network hardware and virtual routing forwarding (VRF) design.
Experience configuring and maintaining firewalls and network access control systems.
Experience with VoIP systems.
Experience in installing, configuring, and troubleshooting Ethernet switches and routers within large, multi-campus TCP/IP data, voice, and video networks is preferred.
Knowledge of OSX, Linux and all Windows operating systems.
