Network engineers might optimize a packet capture application, deep dive to root cause a customer issue, investigate why a metric is trending the wrong way, consult with the other engineers, or discuss radical new approaches to automate operational issues. The focus of this position is on Network support (both hardware and software with an emphasis on software) to a cybersecurity software development team including configuring, troubleshooting, and performance-tuning network equipment, including but not limited to routers, switches, firewalls, etc. Candidates will be expected to support the operational and development networks through maintenance and troubleshooting. In addition, the candidate will participate in designing and building high-end, customized networking and server solutions using cutting-edge technology to meet emerging requirements. This is an ideal position for an experienced network engineer who is well-organized and reliable to contribute to and be a part of an established team of highly experienced software engineers to build and operate high-performance solutions for cybersecurity. Candidates should be willing to take ownership of assigned tasks, meet deadlines, be willing to learn, adapt quickly to changing requirements, and work both independently and as a part of a team. In addition, applicants may interact with customers so good communications skills are essential.
Job Duties:
Support software services before they go live in Amazon Clouds through activities such as testing, integration, and establishing key infrastructure
Support software development team by maintaining key internal network resources
Maintain services once they are live by measuring and monitoring availability and overall health of the environment
Scale systems sustainably through mechanisms, automation, and evolve systems by pushing for changes that improve reliability and velocity
Effective communication with internal customers, coordinating between developers, testers, and subject matter experts
Periodically support an on-call rotation
Train and mentor junior engineers as a subject matter expert, and act as an escalation point for higher complexity issues
Field, disseminate, and execute operational projects to affect large scale change
Perform process analysis and improve operational excellence by creating more efficient workflows and standards.

Required Skills:
US Citizens Only
5+ years of experience
Experience with Linux network troubleshooting tools to solve complex network issues (tcpdump, ssldump, cURL, Wget, MTR, TCP Traceroute, Nmap, OpenSSL, TShark)
Familiarity with packet capture and analysis tools such as Wireshark/TShark, Zeek, Suricata, etc.
Experience with AWS CLI and/or AWS Console
Familiarity with AWS services such as EC2, EBS, S3, CloudWatch, CloudFormation, etc.
Experience with hardware troubleshooting and device familiarity
Experience managing/administrating remote systems in virtualized enterprise environments.
In-depth knowledge of, and experience with networking technologies.
Understanding of route/switch hardware and layer 2 & 3 routing protocols.
Desired Skills:
TS/SCI clearance
Degree in Networking
Database familiarity with MySQL and Dynamo DB, or similar engines.
Scripting experience with Python, Ruby, and/or Bash
Experience developing bash and/or python scripts, utilities and tools used for network troubleshooting
Experience Establishing VPNs with OpenVPN or similar tools
Experience configuring and maintaining Dell servers through iDRAC
Basic certifications in applicable field eg. A+/Net+/Sec+/CCNA/LPIC/Linux+/AWS certs
