If you are an experienced Network Engineer in LAN/WAN and VPN and have a true desire to support a program critical to our nation's safety, ManTech International needs your expertise. If you possess a current and active Secret clearance and have the ability to obtain a higher-level classification, this is an exciting opportunity to grow with the company and the contract. Our Network Engineer:

  • Installs new releases and system upgrades, evaluates and installs patches, and resolves network related problems.

  • Performs system backups and recovery.

  • Maintains data files and monitors system configuration to ensure network integrity.

  • Performs a variety of tasks and work under general supervision.

  • Analyzes network access trends and resolve bandwidth management issues for mission critical systems.

  • Implements, troubleshoots, monitors and maintains all aspects of LAN/WAN/VPN/ networks for high availability of parallel development, testing and production environments.

  • Reviews SNMP alerts, uses protocol-line analyzers (sniffers) and conducts log forensics in order to determine root cause analysis and resolution of complex issues.

  • Collaborates with Software and Database Developers, Windows and Linux Server Administrators and Security personnel to analyze Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC) requirements, troubleshoot anomalies and determine appropriate firewall configuration implementation.

  • Drafts and submits recommended change request proposals necessary for timely mitigation of POA&Ms and CVE findings.

  • Maintains system compliance with DHS\FISMA IT Security and Information Assurance objectives concerning privacy of passenger screening information.


  • B.S. degree in a relevant field of study and 4 to 6 tears of related experience are required.

  • Routing experience to include static routes, EIGRP and route redistribution.

  • Switching experience to include understanding of virtual port-channels (vPC aka MEC), spanning tree, first hop redundancy protocols, and security best practices.

  • Experience with firewall concepts and configurations to include creating/modifying access control lists, network/port address translation, and virtual private networks.

  • Experience with load balancing concepts and configurations to include layer4/layer7, SSL offloading, and health monitoring.

  • Monitoring of all network components via SolarWinds.

  • Specific hardware

  • Switching: Cisco 4500-E/4500R+E/3850/3750X/3560X

  • Firewalls: Cisco ASA 5555X/5545X/5525X+FirePOWER

  • Load balancers: F5 LTM, KEMP VLM

The network engineer advises the client on applying enterprise policy by: developing, documenting, and implementing processes and procedures; implementing security controls and designing and configuring networks; establishing network segmentation, virtual local area networks, "demilitarized zones" (DMZ), and network and sub-network protection using firewalls; and analyzing network traffic and collecting and analyzing log data, and identifying and remediating risk.
