The Defense & Intelligence Group of Leidos has a career opening for a Network Engineer in Ogden, UT at Hill Air Force Base.

JOB SUMMARY:

Our customer is the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) located at Scott AFB, IL and acts as the provider of GIG/Defense Information System Network (DISN) services to its customers, the department of Defense (DoD) and national security organizations. The core telecommunications capabilities supported by GSM-O enables the Warfighter to meet operational needs by providing world-wide telecommunications, supporting natural disaster relief, and conducting humanitarian assistance in peace time crises, regional conflicts, and at the same time executing on-going strategic deterrence activities. This position directly supports the DISA-provided GIG capabilities and services in our 24x7 Global Network Support Center (GNSC) working in our Transport, IP, and / or Unified Capabilities (UC) NOC.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conduct network and telecommunications system incident investigation.

  • Identify and document network errors and solutions.

  • Analyze network and telecommunications alarms and identify potential issues.

  • Configure, test, install, troubleshoot, and maintain network devices such as firewalls, cryptographic devices, and routers to optimize performance and ensure the desired security posture is attained and maintained.

  • Configure, test, install, troubleshoot, and maintain network devices, phone systems, including phone units, voicemail, switches, infrastructure, call manager systems, Video Teleconference (VTC) systems video recording/viewing/distribution systems, and related telecommunications trunk circuits.

  • Configure, test, install, troubleshoot, and maintain network devices including MSPP, Promina, ATM, and Optical.

Qualifications

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical discipline with 3+ years of overall related experience; additional related years of experience is accepted in lieu of a degree.

  • Hold DoD-8570 IAT Level 2 baseline certification (Security+ CE or equivalent) prior to start date.

  • Able to work in a shift work environment as we are a 24/7 operation.

  • Experience with one or more of the following: alarm surveillance, fault management, LAN maintenance, performance management

  • Expertise in one or more of the following: routers, switches, crypto devices, routing, DSN/DRSN, GVS, ATM, Promina, CISCO, MSPP, Optical Switching.

  • General understanding of network topologies, both transport and IP.

  • Currently possess an active Secret security clearance and be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance.

Network Administrator for Joint Strike Fighter (JSF) Autonomic Logistics Information System (ALIS) at Hill AFB. Mission Systems and Training (MST) has a requirement for a Network Engineer to provide support to a Commercial network deployment on a US Government installation. Position requires strong working knowledge of layer 2 and 3 networking along with production and administrative procedures for a highly visible F-35 program location. Position will also assist with the design and sustainment of the overall F-35 Extranet expansion through analysis, modeling, and simulation based on rapidly expanding subscriber site activations and remote user needs. Responsibilities will include: * Serving as Network Site Support Administrator on the F-35 ALIS Extranet team. * Assisting Extranet Team Lead with determining associated IT needs * Reviewing network schematics, diagrams, and other program documentation to assist with development and preparation of cost estimates * Coordinating F-35 Extranet equipment installations with LM and the local Communications facilities. * Generating system documentation including: Diagrams, Rack Elevations, Plate/Panel Details, Electrical load specification * Troubleshooting both LM and F-35 ALIS program equipment and supporting network equipment * Field testing of LM and F-35 ALIS program network equipment * Project Management to support F-35 ALIS network expansion and migration * Provide technical training and supervision to teammates and clients. * Provide technical assistance to clients relating to operation, use, and maintenance of LM/GFE workstations and network equipment * Work with customers and internal personnel to manage related IT projects and provide customer service and technical support * Coordinate with LM MST on functions for this location to include technician training, customer training programs, inventory and administrative information tracking, maintenance tracking, and vendor management – affiliated with the F-35 ALS Extranet. * Provide tiered troubleshooting within the scope of a Problem Management and Network Management System in support of Contractor Logistics Support and F-35 ALIS program personnel Must be willing to travel, to include Squadron deployments for extended periods depending on operational needs. Position may require the ability to perform in an arduous duty environment. Successful candidate must be capable of passing a Physical and must maintain their medical fitness for this position. The selected applicant selected may be required to work at deployed locations, work rotating shifts, and work in excess of 40 hours per week. Must be willing to travel, to include Squadron CONUS/OCONUS deployments for extended periods depending on operational needs.
