We are seeking a Network Engineer with IT Enterprise experience. This role could work out of our New Providence NJ, Gahanna OH or our Windsor CT office.

Job Summary

The Network Engineer is responsible for a broad range of network, systems, administration, and operations in an enterprise environment. Candidate will need to possess strong experience with Cisco technologies. CCNA knowledge level and experience required. A successful candidate must demonstrate exceptional technical, communication, problem-solving and analytical skills. This person will be detail-oriented, self-directed and self-motivated, and be able to effectively communicate with and share information within the IT organization and organization at large.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Performs daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of hardware, performance, utilization, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs

  • Coordinates partner renewals installs new and/or replaces existing hardware and configures in accordance with standards and project/operational requirements

  • Oversee lifecycle management and hardware upgrades

  • Escalation for troubleshooting of network and system performance issues

  • Suggest improvements to network performance, capacity and scalability

  • Design and deploy functional networks

  • Performs and oversees continuous health checks, administration, and application of patches and upgrades

  • Enhances efficiencies by implementing 3rd party tools and scripts

  • Coordinates with outside vendors to resolve problems with hardware and software

  • Assists in planning and deployment of disaster recovery procedures

  • Maintains documentation and diagrams

  • Understanding of SDWAN/MPLS Networks, including Azure/AWS connectors

  • Strong Windows based networking background, and understanding of Windows server technologies, including Active Directory, DNS, Hyper-V

Other duties include but are not limited to:

  • Troubleshooting, repair and installation of VOIP telephone systems (Cisco, Shortel, and Skype) either direct or with a vendor

  • Coordinating supporting requirements as it relates to office moves and expansions

  • Provides end user support via remote assistance and or telephone

  • Member of an On-Call engineer rotation

  • No third parties. This is a full-time, direct hire role that does not offer sponsorship now or in the future*

  • 5+ or more years of IT Enterprise experience

  • 3-5+ years of experience working with networking hardware

  • Comprehensive understanding of the following subject matter areas:

  • Cisco hardware (Switches/Firewalls/Routers) d TCP/IP, DNS, 802.1x, and DHCP protocols

  • Networking and related technologies TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, IPsec, SDWAN, MPLS etc.

  • Understanding of communication protocols and routing protocols (e.g. BGP, OSPF)

  • Access control models and network security

  • Networking Operating Systems (Cisco IOS, Meraki)

  • Windows Operating Systems (Windows 2012-2019, Hyper-V)

  • Commitment to continual development of technical skillsets and knowledge sharing

  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team

  • Strong communication (verbal and written), analytical & problem-solving skills

  • Expert research, analytical, and problem-resolution skills

  • Work independently, self-directed and self-motivated

  • Travel may be required up to 25%

  • Available to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed in event of projects or emergencies


  • BA/BS degree or equivalent experience

  • Cisco CCNA preferred but not required

  • Microsoft Certifications a plus (MCSE, Azure)

  • AWS certifications a plus

Responsibilities: * Field investigations and construction oversight for both environmental remediation and land development projects. * Perform various project tasks including regulatory requirements/reviews, quantity take-offs, cost estimates, data entry and data evaluation, research, subcontractor procurement support, peer/quality reviews, etc. * Design of remediation system components, piping, friction loss estimates, pumps and pumping systems, grading, stormwater management systems, utility design, etc. * Final work products include preparation of tables, drawings, reports, plans and specifications, and presentations for client and governmental approvals and construction.
