About the Role

The Network/IT Operations Engineer will be responsible for the management and implementation for any and all business critical infrastructure related components and supporting applications. The scope of this position includes the execution of key technology initiatives, server administration, monitoring (on-premise and cloud), backup, infrastructure security, and risk management.

  • Monitors to ensure the successful completion of all backup jobs for all key systems. Maintains and monitors for successful application of virus definitions and security patches. Ability to support and maintain comprehensive monitoring that provides insight into all infrastructure systems.

  • Provide specialized technical expertise in researching and resolving complex problems within multiple technology specialties, to include but not be limited to, HP Blade and 3Par storage, VMware virtualization, Cisco internetwork devices.

  • Work with Active Directory GPOs to manage endpoint devices. Maintain and upgrade Windows server infrastructure as needed.

  • Provide day to day support of the companies messaging infrastructure within Office 365

  • Document new technology solutions and support processes. Work with desktop support to triage escalated issues in a timely manner, and provide effective communication.

  • Rotating on-call responsibilities

About You

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science (preferred); will also consider work experience as a substitute along with applicable industry certifications pertinent to the role.

  • 7+ years Systems Engineering experience supporting a variety of operating systems and infrastructure platforms.

  • Ability to become part of a dynamic team and demonstrate a strong work ethic, teamwork and willingness to get the job done.

  • Strong interpersonal skills, sound judgment, strong analytical skills, excellent written and verbal communication.

  • Extensive experience in data center management, DR solutions and strategies and managing a 24X7 technology infrastructure.

  • Strong understanding of server and application virtualization.

  • Extensive knowledge in network design, architecture, protocols, and network topology.

  • Experience supports the following platforms: Windows Server 2016 and Windows 10, Office 365, VMware, Linux experience.

  • Experience with Microsoft Azure.

  • Good verbal and written communication skills

  • Independent, self-starting attitude

  • Ability to make decisions that have moderate impact one's immediate work

The Network Engineer will help with strategic planning and recommendations to IT Management. This position is not eligible for International Relocation Program benefits. ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: (functions considered essential as defined by ADA) * Provide advance networking knowledge to troubleshoot and isolate simple to complex applications or communication issues; WebEx, Citrix, Wireless access (Aruba), VPN, circuits or routing anomalies. * Manage and Support Data Centers within the USA and Canada, while providing an expert level of technical experience in: Network Design, Implementation, Integration, and Maintenance. * Provide support for a hybrid networking environment consisting of; Cisco Nexus 2K/5K, Cisco 4507-E, Juniper 33xx-46xx switches, ASR1006 routers, Cisco ASA55xx Firewalls, Juniper SRX firewall, Citrix Netscalers, Aruba Wireless controllers, and Cisco VoIP. * Configure and provide administrative support for network monitoring tools: Cisco Call Manager, TEMs, Aruba Airwave, Variphy Insight, Solarwinds, Lancope Stealthwatch, Junos Space and Mobile-Iron. * Create and update documentation on operational procedures and network topology. * Manage/work closely with VARs used for staff augmentation while assigned to large corporate projects. * Interface with the different business units to complete special assignments and tasks based on the needs of the business. * Create change management requests that outlines the planned changes, a validated test plan, and rollback procedures in the event they are needed. * Conducts network communications studies, proposal generation, and system implementation. * Tests and evaluates networks systems to eliminate problems and make improvements in development, quality assurance, and production environments. * Work with vendor experts to make recommendations for system upgrades, patches or replacements; End-Of-Life or End-of-Support (EOS) devices. * Request, order and coordinate the installation of various transport types. * Work closely with the cyber security team for all related security concerns or issues. * Responsible for maintaining a secure and highly available environment. EXPERIENCE: A minimum of 7 years of hands on job related experience to include VoIP, wireless support and configuration, firewall configuration and VPN support, and an in depth knowledge of routing, switching, and troubleshooting. Exposure to network architecture and design is required. EDUCATION: A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent proven work experience is required. REQUIRED SKILLS: * Junior to Expert level understanding of dynamic routing protocols: BGP, iBGP and OSPF. * Cisco Voice and Video; Unity, Jabber, WebEx, SIP. * Data Center knowledge in rack design, airflow, cable management, power requirements, circuit termination and turn-up. * Wireless indoor and outdoor Access Points (APs). * Advance working knowledge of networking components inclusive of applications layer firewall, load balancers, routers, switches and virtual private networking (VPN). * High level of understanding, Tier1-Tier3, and hands on experience in real-time network Troubleshooting. * Advanced decision-making, analytical, and problem solving skills; conceptual and data analysis skills. * Ability to perform intermediate mathematical calculations, coupled with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with others. * Must have great written and verbal communication. * Experience in training both less experienced team members and cross function. * Ability to lead and supervise the work of others and maintain professional relationships with the vendor community. PREFERRED SKILLS: * Certifications in Aruba, Cisco or Juniper preferred: CCNA, CCNP, JNCIA, JNCIS, JNCIP, ACMP, ACMA * Special training in Cisco, Juniper, Aruba, Security, firewalls, Citrix NetScalers, SD Wan is desired. WORK CONDITIONS: Office based. Up to 40% travel by land or air is required. From time to time, required to work long hours which may include nights, weekends, holidays for regularly scheduled maintenance and emergency work and support as well as on-call availability.
