The Charter Technical Engineering Center (CTEC) facilities in Englewood, CO oversee the design and architecture of Charter's multi-billion dollar network infrastructure. We investigate, select, develop, and integrate technologies and solutions that meet the needs of the company for short, medium and long term initiatives. This includes the delivery of the technology plan and future architecture for Voice, Video, Data, Optical, Commercial, Cloud, CPE, Network and Access.

JOB SUMMARY

A true Infrastructure Architect role as part of the Advanced Engineering (AE) team within Charter, the set of services to be provided include engineering and implementation of new solutions in the AE Lab or help Architects to PoC new technologies.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Assigned complex and critical projects that involve several technical systems and constituents.

Designs, implements, monitors, enhances and troubleshoots systems in assigned areas.

Analyzes and revises existing system logic difficulties and documentation as necessary.

Tests and reviews system designs.

Provides Engineering Technical support to ensure all technical integration, changes, standards and documentation are met.

Reviews work plans and designs and advises on improvements.

Adheres to industry specific local, state, and federal regulations, as applicable.

Knows, understands and follows company policy.

Performs other duties as requested by manager.

Anticipates how changes in the competitive landscape can affect Charter from both the business and technical perspective

Preform POC of new technologies

Help to define the road map for Storage

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Skills/Abilities and Knowledge

  • Ability to read, write and speak the English language to communicate with employees, customers, suppliers, in person, on the phone, and by written communications in a clear, straight-forward, and professional manner

  • Expert level Data Center architectural design and hands-on engineering experience

  • Expert level knowledge of and experience with Virtualization Networking, and Linux

  • Strong working knowledge of and experience with Storage Networking.

  • Design, testing, and implementation of the Data Center network service to partition the data-center edge from the data-center core in partnership with the Network Security Engineer.

  • Experience with strategic architecture and roadmap development (1-year and 3-year Data Center network outlook)

  • Overall familiarity with hardware infrastructure with a specific focus on storage platforms and technologies. This includes sizing, design, deployment, configuration and support for storage deployed for the purpose of hosting large-scale virtual environments.

  • Experience should also include designs and deployments that consider storage replication, high availability and business continuity / disaster recovery.

  • Strong working knowledge:

o Open Systems: Server Hardware Vendors (HP, Dell, IBM, Cisco), Physical Servers and Blade Technology

o Backup Technologies (Veritas NetBackup, Commvault, Dell Power Protect, Rubrik, Cohesity)

o Storage Platforms (Dell/EMC, Pure Storage, IBM, Netapp)

o Storage Networking (Fiber Channel and IP)

o Cloud/Virtualization (Amazon AWX, Azure, VMWare, OpenStack)

Education

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related technical field or equivalent combination of education and related work experience. Master's degree preferred

JOB SUMMARY Looking for an Individual contributor who will take responsibility for and provide independent leadership in the development of WiFi technologies and features. Coordinate with other contributors to implement designed features, create test cases and own the user experience of our Wi-Fi products. MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES * Become an expert at Wi-Fi testing and the development of future test cases * Research and development of wireless technologies and solutions for use in customer premise WiFi equipment deployed in carrier networks * Work within schedules and adhere to deadlines in the development and validation of features * Using requirements for WiFi hardware and features, develop tests plans and test cases to validate proposed requirements * Employing critical thinking skills to analyze test results to fine tune testing and drive bug remediation. * Identify root causes of RF and wireless issues encountered with equipment deployed in the lab, at test houses or in production networks. * Understanding and administration of wireless test equipment, analysis, and processing of test results. * Working with vendors to ensure adequate support and resolution of bugs REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS * 3+ years with Wi-Fi Experience * 3+ years Developing test cases * Experienced with testing equipment and test methodologies * Self-motivated and driven * Ability to think outside the box and is creative * Understanding and working knowledge of WiFi/Wireless Protocols & Standards * Ability to troubleshoot issues methodically and understand the root cause. * Proficient data networking knowledge (OSI Model, Protocols, basic route/switch) * Strong verbal and written communication skills. * Willingness to work in a lab environment. * Proven technology expertise, leadership skills, excellent written and oral communication skills, and a strong customer-service orientation. * Understand of WiFi access technologies (802.11ax/ad/ay, 6GHz), WiFi dev and testing * (preferred) Experience working with any MSO, Chipset Provider or Wi-Fi Vendor * Experience with 802.11 standard * Experience with the following testing tools: Ixia, Spirent, Octobox, Keysight and Rohde & Schwarz Education Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in job experience Salaries depend on geography, experience, and education; negotiations begin at $64500 For more information on Spectrum's benefits, please click here.
