The Role

As a Network Engineer II, you will lead network projects by recommending solutions to network strategy and security issues, in addition to developing approaches to network growth and enhancement. You will develop detailed network specifications, perform network analysis and capacity planning as well as monitor and analyze network performance. Ultimately, you are the backbone of our information systems, and are responsible for not only managing but also optimizing, creating and developing connectivity to Fellowes and subsidiary sites across the globe, on a 24/7 basis.

You will

  • Manage network requests / tickets

  • Troubleshoot LAN / WAN issues

  • Assist in the architecture/design of global network LAN / WAN systems

  • Maintain and monitor Fellowes' global network

  • Manage network UPS

  • Manage vendor relationships

  • Assist in network initiatives

  • Create knowledge base articles and manage network documentation

  • Support installation and maintenance of server hardware and software

  • Assist in maintenance of all data center equipment

  • Travel up to 10% per year and provide 24/7 network support, which may include evenings and weekends

In your first six months, you will

  • Gain full understanding and control of the infrastructure/network environment

  • Be able to document the environment

In your first year, you will

  • Fully be able to handle network support as well as handle the majority of the day-to-day operations

  • Improve the functionality of the DR site for fail back and successfully test

Our Team

You will work closely with our Network Architect and collaborate with a variety of teams across the organization, to include the server, storage, applications and help desk teams, to name a few. We work in a fast-paced environment that offers a lot of exposure across the IT function there are no silos here! What You Bring to the Team

  • 2+ years of experience supporting a network infrastructure

  • Experience and thorough knowledge of:

  • Cisco Switches (Catalyst, Nexus) and Cisco Routers

  • Cisco ASA and Wireless Controllers

  • Routing and Switching: VLANs, Spanning Tree, VTP, HSRP, LACP, VPC, Static Routing, Dynamic Routing (EIGRP/OSPF/BGP)

  • Network Protocols: TCP, UDP, AAA, RADIUS, TACACS, IPSEC, IP, GRE, NTP, SSH, SNMP

  • A demonstrated ability to be diplomatic and effective in live conversations or voicemail/email messages

  • A demonstrated ability to evaluate new technologies to address Fellowes' business needs

  • Experience in managing vendor relationships and contracts

  • Strong project management and organizational skills

  • The ability to be proactive and support continuous improvement initiatives

  • A team player attitude

  • Strong documentation skills

You May Also Have

  • Experience and knowledge of:

  • FirePOWER, Prime and ISE

  • Network and Information Security

  • Microsoft and Linux Operating Systems and Network Functions

  • A Bachelors Degree in Information Sciences, Network Engineering or related field of study

  • CCNA and/or CCNP Certification
