For the DIA Directorate of Science and Technology (DS&T), the Advanced Technology Integration Program (ATIP) provides IT managed services for Special Access Program (SAP) systems supporting activities to enable DIA's sensitive technical collection.

AT&T has an opening for a Network Engineer to support the ATIP systems in providing managed IT support of SAP-IT systems for high-priority defense intelligence collection needs and develop and field advanced technical collection capabilities and systems that leverage emerging methods, phenomenologies, and technologies.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Performs Tier -2 NOC/SOC support, continuous monitoring of the network, intrusion detection, troubleshooting of network problems, manages firewalls, load balancers.

  • Manages automated tools to provide status of the network, servers and monitored information technology (IT) equipment and software.

  • Configures tools to provide necessary reporting and logging capabilities. This includes archival of system status and health data.

  • Monitors the tools and manage incidents and outages, monitoring the status of a network, whether servers are running, and the percentage of bandwidth being used between servers.

  • Manages the communication and escalation paths to service providers and vendors responsible for addressing equipment and network issues.

  • Generates trouble tickets for repair and maintenance of the network, NOC tools servers, and monitored network, server and IT devices.

Required Clearance:

Mandatory Security Clearance Requirement: TS/SCI with Polygraph (#polygraph)

Required Qualifications:

  • Skills commensurate with the duties and responsibilities.

  • A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institute in an area applicable to this position and four (4) years of relevant experience

  • An additional four (4) years of relevant experience may be substituted for the bachelor's degree

Desired Qualifications:

Experience with multi-level security domains.

Job Summary: Summary: The Lead Network Operations Center Engineer is a disciplined position that combines software and systems engineering to support, help build and run cloud-scale, distributed, fault-tolerant systems. Our team ensures that Nuance services have the reliability and uptime to meet the needs of our ever-growing customer base in a mission critical industry: Healthcare hosted products. Practices such as event response, major incident management, minimizing operational work, deep post-mortem exercises, and prevention of potential outages are factoring into the iterative improvement work that the NOC Engineer focuses on. In this team lead role you will spend a majority of time supporting and being a central point of contact in the Site Reliability Center (SRC) with a line of business through phone based, direct contact support, as well as through ticketing systems. You will be supporting the products and customers directly. You will also spend a portion of each day working with other team members on a variety of tasks from monitoring, incident management, completing capacity and deployment based service planning, defining monthly and weekly activities like patch & vulnerability management, and playing a pivotal role in our major incident response team should an incident impact the availability or reliability of one of the Healthcare products. Because of this breadth, the Network Operations Center Engineer maintains a unique position to see the entire division and interact across all teams. The team lead will own overall process improvement, progress, communication, and keep their manager up to date on current and ongoing issues. Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent education required Minimum years of work experience: 5+ years of experience in large complex information systems, and/or Cloud environments. Requirements: * Ability to pass and maintain background investigation and/or security clearance process * Have a social security number and be able to get fingerprinted locally Required skills: * Phone and email based direct customer support * Broad experience in troubleshooting large-scale distributed systems covering application, OS, networking and storage areas. * Self-motivated and proactive, with demonstrated creative and critical thinking capabilities * Strategic relationship and partnership building skills * Excellent time management, organizational, communication skills * Familiarity with cloud support engineering practices. * Well versed in Azure cloud environments and management including direct work with customer support for maintenance and repair requests. * Ability to failover and handle datacenter region outages. * Good hands-on experience on any of these technologies including Kubernetes, AMQ, MSSQL, Grafana, Sumologic, Nagios, SaltStack, Zenoss, HP Openview, * Remedyforce, Confluence, Jira, Pagerduty * Working experience in Linux and Windows based production environments and strong knowledge in fundamentals and internals - file systems, memory management, threads and processes * Strong understanding of networking protocols, IP packets, DNS, OSI layers and load balancing. * Experience with system monitoring and alerting for availability, reliability and performance. * Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. * Ability to solve operational related challenges through automation or process related improvements * Ability to develop and plan for longer term projects to directly impact the SRC and LOB relationship and our understanding and ability to support the related products.
