The role of the Network Engineer is to design, implement, manage, make and oversee the effectiveness of network servers, including but not limited to communication, virtual, proxy, certificate, file cluster, data protection management, domain controller, disaster recovery servers and appliances. The Network Engineer shall design and implement short- and long-term strategic plans to make certain network capacity meets existing and future requirements, manage and oversee optimal operation of all network hardware and equipment including, but not limited to routers and switches, and develop and deploy methodologies for testing network performance and provide network performance statistics and reports.
This position is responsible for checking system specifications. The Network Engineer will lead in the development/adaptation and enforcement of Information Security policies, procedures, and standards and develop, implement, and maintain network policies, procedures, and associated training plans for network resource administration and appropriate use. The Network Engineer will also make recommendations to the IT director.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field and a minimum of seven (7) years of directly related experience required.
Must have a working knowledge of LANs, WANs, Microsoft Server Systems, Exchange, SQL, SharePoint Server, Cisco networking and VPNs. Network security experience. MCSE/MCSA preferred. Supervisory experience required.
