MAG is searching for an exceptional Network Engineer who performs as part of IT team providing business essential services. The Network Engineer will assist in planning, execution and maintaining of both classified and unclassified mission networks. Implements device management tools to reduce staff workload and increase network up time. Facilitates improvements to enterprise network. Establishes and maintains network performance by building net configurations and connections; troubleshooting network problems.
5+ years' experience in hands-on network engineering, implementation, testing and/or program management of computer networks or telecommunication systems supporting low-latency applications
Excellent technical writing and documentation/drafting skills. Design, installation, and troubleshooting of IP-based networks with routing, switching, and multicast experience. Minimum Cisco Certification CCNP
Active CCNA, CCNP or equivalent
Project Management, Problem Solving, LAN Knowledge, Proxy Servers, Networking Knowledge, Network Design and Implementation, Network Troubleshooting, Network Hardware Configuration, Network Performance Tuning, People Management
Cisco ASA, VPN, Cisco Router, and Cisco Switch experience. Knowledge of local and wide area networks (LAN/WAN), Internet, e-mail systems, telecommunications and data communications; standard operating systems.
Experienced in data communications, networking principles, traffic engineering, and bandwidth capacity management
Fundamental understanding of modern network architecture (QoS, multicasting, etc.)
Hands on experience of LAN switching and routing architecture including design and implementation
Fundamental knowledge in packet-based protocols such as TCP/IP (including protocols like DHCP, DNS, TCP, UDP, etc.)
Experience with installation, configuration, troubleshooting of Cisco network devices
In-depth knowledge of heterogeneous networking components along with knowledge of routing/ switching involving VLANs
Good organization skills to produce quality work, within required specifications, and within scheduled timelines
Knowledge of VoIP solutions in the enterprise
Experience administering network/systems back-ups
Experience administering Type-1 encryption devices, including the KG-250x and the KG-175
Knowledge of VMWare ESXi and experience working in a virtualized environment.
Experience and Education:
Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university preferred; and/or 5+ years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Active CCNA, CCNP or equivalent
Current Security+ certification.
Experience with using and/or creating Python Scripts.
Must be intellectually agile, able to work under pressure, have strong problem-solving skills, be creative, strong interpersonal skills, strong verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a team environment
