Job Summary Work with a Team of Network Engineers planning and implementing projects to support VoIP, Critical Applications, and a Network reliability of 99.99%.. Act as the SME working with a project team to implement deliverables and work on the next generation of Cloud Services. Perform network related operational support, administration, compliance and configuration, and contribute to and drive Policy setting and implementation.

Work directly with vendors, end users and other suppliers to analyze, design, recommend and implement new networking technologies. Provide problem determination and solutions, with guidance, utilizing various networking tools or network equipment. Define and discern key aspects of system administration that have significant technical and business impact.

Essential functions include, but are not limited to: Implement redundancy throughout our network, eliminating any single points of failure. Plan, design, and implement local and wide-area network solutions between multiple platforms and protocols (including IP and VOIP). Plan and implement cloud connectivity using best practices and secure methods.

Participate in ongoing network design reviews in search of improved user experience performance and cost reductions. Ensure risk-free implementation of all business and technology solutions. Documentation of network designs and standards.

Product selection, pilot and implementation of network solutions which meet customer and future business requirements. Responsible for the supervision of vendors through projects. Working with project leaders, ensuring that all solutions and changes are cost effective and are within overall functional strategies and objectives.

Develop and maintain a productive working relationship with the customer and third party suppliers Proactively identifies potential issues and drives resolution to avoid customer impact and facilitate continuous improvement. Create Documentation for PCI compliance and resolve any vulnerabilities. Participate in an on-call Rotation Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Expert level configuring and managing Routers, Switches and Firewalls Prefer Cisco and Palo Alto experience.

Expert level using and configuring BGP, OSPF, SNMP, Syslog, SSH In depth knowledge of industry protocols including IPSec, VLANs and Spanning tree. In depth knowledge, implementation of QOS/COS traffic shaping/bandwidth throttling. In depth knowledge of packet capture and analysis.

Understanding of Cloud technologies and configuration.

Prefer Google Cloud experience. Understanding of Wireless Implementation and configuration.

Prefer Cisco wireless controllers and access point experience. Understanding of RADIUS, TACACS+. Prefer Cisco ISE experience. Practical experience in the management of of Medium size Data Center Networks.

Perfer Cisco ACI experience Experience using network-troubleshooting tools. Prefer Cisco Prime, NetBrain experience Familiar with the principles related to secure network design following PCI best practices. Strong oral and written English communication skills.

Ability to interface with senior management and business partners. Excellent organizational, project management, interpersonal and time management skills. Education & Experience / Licenses & Certification Bachelor's degree in related field or 10+ years equivalent experience. Cisco, Palo Alto Certifications a plus

You will be a key member of HQ planning team, leading the evolution effort of VZW network toward 5G and various VoLTE/IMS initiatives. You will have the opportunities to lead the architecture evolution and planning effort of IMS core infrastructure and application platforms, as well as work on new access technologies. As a subject matter expert, you will also provide technical leadership and provide direction to vendors and internal organizations to bring the right technologies in the area of 5G and IMS network virtualization. You will also research/evaluate new technologies and translate business objectives and strategies into viable plans; conduct RFI/RFP as needed. You will conduct feasibility analysis and vendor evaluation, develop project plans, drive IOT, manage contract/vendors, lead HLD effort, and support deployment. In this role, you will: * Work with equipment vendors, and internal teams including Maintenance Engineering, PDI, Operations to develop requirements, features, methods, and tools to support development and deployment effort for IMS platforms (e.g. CSCF, ENUM, Transcoder, Voicemail, ECS). * Develop strategy/business case/deployment plan for IMS platform virtualization. * Architect and design the IMS/VoLTE solution to meet VZ financial/operational goals. * Conduct PoC/FoA on virtualization and work with operation to migrate current appliance-based platform to VCP. * Evaluate and trial 5G NR/Core impact on IMS network & services. * Evaluate and trial webscale/container technology on IMS applications. What we're looking for... You'll need to have: * Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering/Computer Science or four or more years of work experience. * Six or more years of relevant work experience. * Knowledge of wireless technologies and protocols including SIP, RTP, SCP, SS7, AIN, EVDO, CDMA, LTE, IMS, RCS, WebRTC, Mobile IP, circuit switching, and VoIP architecture. * Knowledge of computer technologies and architectures including IP, O/S, Database, NFV, Cloud and SDN. * Experience in cellular/wireless industry or related discipline. Even better if you have: * Master's degree in Electrical Engineering/Computer Science or equivalent. * Expert knowledge pertaining to wireless network infrastructure, vendors and their products. * In-depth working knowledge of IMS/LTE/5G/NFV network. * Self-starter capability, ability to complete project independently. * Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communications skills. Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills. * Experience in cloud-computing/virtualization technologies. * Experience in IMS network planning or deployment. * Experience in documenting call flows, calculating system and transport forecasts, and performing capacity analysis. * Experience in vendor management and coordination of multiple vendors to deploy services. * The ability to learn new technologies quickly. Ability to perform independent system analysis, design and plan implementation. * Working experience in developing consumer voice services. * Working knowledge and experience in subscriber provisioning protocol, subscriber portal development.
