What you'll be doing...

Data drives our business and you will use business intelligence tools and data analytics to monitor the performance of our wireline and wireless networks to identify, predict and repair issues that affect the customer experience. You'll be communicating the business value of technical solutions to stakeholders and keeping up with the market trends to ensure we maintain a competitive advantage. Through implementing descriptive, predictive and prescriptive capabilities, you will improve our network and enhance the way that our customers live, work, and play.

This position is on the Network Performance Analytics team which is responsible for monitoring the performance of the Verizon Wireline transport, data, video, and voice networks. The team uses analytical methods and tools to improve the customer experience, reduce costs and improve efficiency of operations of the networks.

This position will apply your knowledge of transport networks and systems in an analytics environment. In this role you will act as a data translator contributing your domain knowledge to a team of data scientist and data engineers to collect information from the network, load the information into a big data environment and then apply descriptive, prescriptive and predictive analytics. This includes managing key performance indicators (KPIs) reported by the network; as well as determine and develop methods to report and analyze performance of services and applications that reflect actual customer perception of the network. You will work with Operations and Engineering teams to inform them of trends or issues found in the network through your analytical analysis to improve network performance.

We are looking for an experienced network engineer that can take their domain knowledge and apply it in an analytics environment.

What we're looking for...

You will be a subject matter expert in transport networks and it's supporting EMS with an understanding of Ciena 6500 Converged Packet optical, One Control, and Blue Planet a plus. You are able to coordinate the collection of performance data from the network with an understanding of what the data means. Communicating with others comes naturally to you and you have a knack for explaining complex data in a way people can relate to. Your natural curiosity to solve complex issues serves you well as you enjoying seeing the results of your hard work.

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.

  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.

Even better if you have:

  • A degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics or related field.

  • Experience with Splunk or Tableau.

  • Understanding of R, SQL, Python or Jupyter Notebook.

  • Worked in a Data Analyst and/or Software Development role.

  • Business intelligence/visualization software experience.

  • Data mining, preparation and modeling experience.

  • Statistical analysis language experience.

  • Data preparation tool experience.

The Account Manager of Technical Sales will be responsible for driving Samsung's network RAN products and solutions for the AT&T network account nationwide. This is a direct customer facing Technical Account Manager role specifically for Wireless 4G/5G technology, and you will be instrumental in driving technical discussions for AT&T's LTE as well as 5G Radio Access network. In partnership with Samsung's network sales team dedicated to AT&T, you will work to identify AT&T's technical needs so that technical solutions can be developed and positioned to drive sales revenue targets. You will be relied upon as the technical Subject Matter Expert (SME) for all-things at AT&T. In regards to 4G and 5G wireless technologies, this role encompasses pre-sales, technical design and post-sales support (to ensure delivery as promised). Role and Responsibilities * Supports business meetings initiated by Samsung's AT&T Account Sales Leadership to increase existing sales and introduce new products. * Provides expert technical support in the pre-sales process and creates compelling technical and commercial solutions in order to help achieve the assigned sales goals and business objectives. * Translates and communicates complex technical design considerations between the Samsung sales team and AT&T's network business (sales calls, joint network design discussions, etc.) * Takes the lead in technical Q&A for Samsung's Wireless Network infrastructure products, applications, and professional services. * Develops deep relationships within AT&T's network business at multiple levels of the technical organization and nationwide market; Establish/maintain trust and rapport as the SME for technical network solutions. Create proposals based on new and existing contractual agreements. * Educate our AT&T network customers on Samsung's new products and services both individually and in a team environment. * Ensures that customer commitments are achieved according to plan. * Works with Samsung marketing and engineering teams for product development plans, schedules, and product introductions * Works closely with various support organizations, logistics, and cross- functional teams from SEA and Samsung HQ to achieve successful new product roll-outs and developments. Success Criteria: Technical Acumen * Subject Matter Expert in driving the technical solutions to customer through complex organizational dynamics and technical standards. Skills and Qualifications Background/Experience required: * Bachelor's degree in Engineering required; Master's degree preferred. 10+ total years of experience within the Wireless/Networks technology industry (Radio, RF engineering, LTE Design, Wireless Network design, RF Planning, etc.) * Deep hands-on experience with air interface; knowledge/understanding in packet core (end-2-end network). * 5+ years of experience hands-on experience with Radio/RF planning and working with LTE (LTE must be in a hands-on capacity or consultative design capacity). * 3+ years of experience in a customer-facing role. Must possess the ability to analyze, interpret, and present (including presentation creation) wireless systems technical products and development materials to both internal and external stakeholders. * Understanding of 3GPP systems: Core and RAN networks * Understanding of Network Virtualization and Cloud Technologies * Strong knowledge in 5G and 4G technologies and network architecture specifically focused on Radio Access Network. * Good understanding of overall Wireless systems with emphasis on Air Interface, PHY, MAC, RLC, RRC and PDCP layers. * Experience with Software development is beneficial. * Understanding of Hardware as well as Software architecture. * Must possess the ability to THRIVE in a highly dynamic cross-functional environment (partnership across Sales, Marketing, Engineering, Global HQ, etc.) PLUS navigate a complex customer (AT&T's) stakeholders and business unit; Interpersonal skills with the ability to navigate an organization and manage-via-influence is just as paramount as the technical ability.
