In this position, you will be expected to understand, setup, perform, and direct network application layer tests to validate new product designs and features in depth. This will require you to develop rigorous test strategies to cover the product under test and execute those strategies via repeatable test cases to determine the overall quality of new products. This role will challenge you consider the edge cases of a design and to develop efficient automated methods of testing as they are critical to successYour efforts will contribute to the successful testing of complex systems, ensuring the delivery of products with the highest quality that meet the needs of the customer base.The ability to make actionable decisions based off all currently known information is a must. - Create and perform application Layer replay and simulation tests
- Understand and analyze requirement definitions and system requirements to ensure a product that meets company and customer demands is produced.
- Analyze functional and technical system design for testability; Work closely with software developers to develop test specifications independently for a complex feature.
- Take a leading role in test scope definition, testcase creation, test execution, and reporting for a set of features and a subset of a team.
- Design, develop, and maintain automated system tests to ensure the quality and reliability of software applications.
- Identify and report software defects and verify fixes to ensure software quality.
- Design automated hardware-in-loop test environments.
- Collaborate with project team resources to understand and prioritize system testing efforts.
- Architect, develop and document test environments.
- Education
- Bachelors’ degree or higher in Software Engineering or related field required.
- Experience
- 3-5 years of experience in experience in Quality Assurance/Test Engineering/Software Development
- Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Experience testing / manipulating data within OSI layer 6 and 7
- Experience with TCP / UDP networking and testing
- Strong knowledge of a programming language.
- Experience with performance testing and using network performance test tools.
- Experience with automated testing frameworks.
- Knowledge of software testing methodologies, tools, and processes.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Working knowledge of Red Hat Linux and/or its derivatives.
- RHCSA is a plus, but not necessary.
- Mobile device experience, iOS or Android is a plus
- Additional Competencies/Requirements
- US Citizenship required as candidates must be able to obtain and/or maintain security clearance.
