Job Description:

We currently have a job opening for a Network Analyst to support a large Network Operating Center in support of NASA a the Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, AL. This Network Operations Center is responsible for managing a nationwide routing/switching network for this high profile Government customer. This consists of implementation of new service and incident/problem resolution via remote methods for local area equipment at customer locations across the United States. The accepted candidate will perform configuration for new service, perform preventative maintenance, and accomplish trouble isolation of remote LAN network equipment, and circuitry. Candidates should possess a good knowledge of Cisco product environments. The candidate will follow engineering documents and work with remote support technicians to test and implement complex network solutions. The candidate will provide as-built documentation, update databases and trouble logs as needed. This position will be on first shift in our 24x7x365 Network Operations Center but could involve after-hours/weekend on call rotation.



Required Education & Experience:

  • Associates or High school (or equivalent) with relevant certification.

  • Experience supporting LAN, telecommunication and Internet Technology.

  • Candidate must either currently possess or be able to obtain a Secret clearance but all higher clearance levels are desired

Required Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of Cisco wired/wireless LAN technology and its OS and CLI

  • Knowledge of Remote Access (VPN) technology and user client applications

  • Knowledge of routing protocols such as OSPF, BGP, RIP, and IGRP -Experience with TCP-IP and IP addressing schemes

  • Experience with IPv-6

Desired Skills:

  • CCNA and networking work experience or CCNP
  • Remedy experience Spectrum monitoring experience ITIL experience

The candidate will report on baseline network performance and provide senior leaders with suggested modifications to ensure optimal network performance based upon test event objectives, architectures and participant data transmissions. The analyst will use simulation techniques to plan new systems or identify complications in existing ones. Roles and Responsibilities * Event Execution Support * Review Event Architecture/Systems Under Test to determine participating elements in event * Coordinate event truth and tactical connections (IP/Port/Protocol/URN) information with Element Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) * Generate a Truth and Tactical Communications Information (TTCI) document and provide for Element review * Update the TTCI as corrections and changes are received; distribute document * Update TTCI during event execution, as needed (event execution can occasionally involve working off-shift or weekend hours); re-distribute document * Develop Event Network Analysis Plans * Coordinate network data capture activities * Develop Simulation Framework Communications Plans * Perform network protocol analysis to evaluate network performance * Develop network performance reports and briefings Qualifications Required Skills and Experience * S.
