Grade: Exempt Non-Exempt

POSITION SUMMARY

The Network Analyst is responsible to the Director of Computer Services and VP of Institutional Advancement. The position is full-time and offers benefits as specified in the Employee handbook. The individual should have a strong understanding of network infrastructure and network hardware. They will also be comfortable with providing technical support and troubleshooting to end users. In accepting this position, HLGU expects that you will maintain a standard of conduct in keeping with the moral and religious standards of HLGU, which includes total abstinence from the use of tobacco, alcohol, marijuana, and other harmful drugs. In addition, you are expected, as a born-again believer, to be faithful to the local evangelical church (preferable Southern Baptist) of your choice, believe the Bible to be God's Inspired infallible Word, will be faithful to your church - in terms of attendance and otherwise - and will strive earnestly to set a clean, upright Christian example in daily life. You will also agree to abide by HLGU's adopted faith statement, the Baptist Faith and Message 2000 from the Southern Baptist Convention and to maintain loyalty to HLGU during employment

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Network Maintenance and Administration

  • Design and deploy networks.

  • Perform network maintenance and system upgrades including service packs, patches, hot fixes, security configurations and conduct backups.

  • Monitor performance and ensure system availability and reliability.

  • Assist the Systems Administrator with servers.

Help Desk Support

  • Provide technical assistance and support for incoming queries and issues related to computer systems, software, and hardware.

  • Support printers and copiers

  • Respond to queries either in person or over the phone

  • Train computer users on the proper use of hardware and software.

Security

  • Monitor network to ensure network security and integrity.

  • Maintain, configure, and monitor virus protection software and email applications.

Policies and Documentation

  • Expected to develop, document, and maintain policies and procedures related to the job.

  • Additional duties or reports as requested by Management.

DEPARTMENTAL RELATIONSHIPS

  • Provide support for all departments on campus.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Knowledge of LAN Networking, PC Repair, Internet Tools, Windows, end-user support, hardware and software installation.

  • Must be physically able to deliver and install computer equipment and printers.

  • Must be able to crawl under desks for installation process.

  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds.

  • Must be able to carry computer equipment when necessary.

  • Must have values consistent with the mission and purpose of Hannibal-LaGrange University.

  • Must agree to, sign and abide by the standards of employment on the application and in the employee handbook.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND TRAINING

  • Bachelor of Science in a computing field, preferred.

  • At least 2 years' experience in LAN Networking, PC Repair, Internet Tools, end-user support, hardware and software installation.

  • Experience with Windows 10 in a network environment.
