As part of West Fraser's Technology & Security Group, the Network Administrator will be responsible for network services including, WANs, LANs, radio data connections, and enterprise wireless implementations. Additionally, the Network team is responsible for edge and internal security points, and secure transit paths using current and next generation firewalls. Further, the Network team is responsible for network access control (wired and wireless), and the network aspects of the corporate telephony system.
The Network team works closely with West Fraser manufacturing divisions to integrate operational technologies (OT) with business IT infrastructure. Further, the Network team is responsible for resolving Tier 2 and 3 network issues escalated from the Service Desk, through the enterprise systems or remediating incidents as directed by the Cybersecurity Incident Response Team.
As part of the Technology and Security Group this individual will be the primary United States point of contact for network administration support in West Fraser's South East US operations, based out of the Germantown office in Tennessee.
Promptly respond to issues affecting network services, and when necessary seek the appropriate level of support from the Network Engineers
Working under the guidance of the Network Engineers, the Network Administrator will manage and maintain divisional edge and internal security points, and the secure transit paths that utilize current and next generation firewall technologies
Proactively monitor, manage and maintain the organization's WAN, LAN and wireless infrastructures, including network performance requirements
Coordinate with the team's System and Network resources to manage and maintain the certificates and certificate authorities in use for all systems and devices
With direction from the Network Engineers proactively address current and future capacity issues
With guidance from the Network Engineers assist with the implementation, management and maintenance of the IT/OT infrastructure and IDMZ deployments
Adhere to West Fraser's technology standards and IT policy for networks
Create and maintain documentation as it relates to network configuration, network mapping, processes, and service records
Conduct research and attend training on network products, services, protocols, and standards to remain abreast of developments in the networking industry
Work with and assist in the management of vendors and contractors
Other duties as assigned
Minimum five years of enterprise level network work experience as a Network Administrator
Must be able to work well in an environment that can present rapidly developing and evolving situations requiring reactive remediation
Must be able to contribute to the process of quickly identifying the scope and impact of incidents on both the enterprise and divisional levels in order to determine an appropriate response
Strong knowledge of IP networking technologies is a requirement
Strong knowledge of switching and routing protocols
Strong knowledge of VPN and encryption technologies
Knowledge of Next Generation firewall technologies
Knowledge of HP Aruba technologies, including ClearPass and AirWave
Strong problem-solving and organizational skills
Strong attention to detail
Strong written and oral communication skills
Strong interpersonal skills
Highly motivated and self-directed
Must be able to work cooperatively and collaboratively with other team members
Will be required to provide support for network related updates, service disruptions and perform scheduled maintenance outside of regular working hours
Lifting and transporting of moderately heavy objects, such as network devices and peripherals into both business and manufacturing environments
Able to work in a manufacturing environment
Travel requiring a valid driver's license
Travel in the United States of America and to Canada
