We are looking for a Network Administrator to maintain a reliable, secure and efficient data communications network. The ideal candidate will be able to deploy, configure, maintain and monitor all active network equipment in order to ensure smooth network operation.

Responsibilities

  • Fully support, configure, maintain and upgrade corporate customers networks and in house servers
  • Knowledge of Cisco and pfSense networking
  • Install and integrate new server hardware and applications
  • Support and administer third-party applications
  • Ensure network security and connectivity in 10G environment
  • Monitor network performance
  • Set up user accounts, permissions and passwords
  • Resolve problems reported by end user
  • Define network policies and procedures
  • Specify system requirements and design solutions
  • Research and make recommendations on server system administration

Skills

  • Proven experience in a network administrator role
  • Hands on experience in networking, routing and switching
  • Excellent knowledge of best practices around management, control, and monitoring of server infrastructure
  • Experience with firewalls, Internet VPNs remote implementation, troubleshooting, and problem resolution is desired
  • Ability to set up and configure server hardware
  • Familiarity with backup and recovery software and methodologies
  • Great at organizing, prioritizing and multitasking

Requirements

  • 2-4 years experience in Network Administration
  • Work onsite at Corpus Christi office
  • Ability to travel to San Antonio or Houston periodically
  • Ability to handle on-call support after-hours when needed
  • Must be authorized to work in US
  • Must be able to pass background check

Responsible for physical server design and layout, ensuring that it meets business needs and adheres to business continuity requirements.</p><p>ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS</p><ul><li><p>Daily administration</p></li><li><p>Analyze operating system and application logs and quickly remediate any issues.</p></li><li><p>Manage environment health and performance metrics in real-time and utilize proper judgment to resolve performance issues to ensure system health.</p></li><li><p>Ensure all system usage and performance metrics are properly logged and available for analysis.</p></li><li><p>Meet service level expectations through timely troubleshooting and resolution of reported issues.</p></li><li><p>Perform all user account management.</p></li><li><p>System management</p></li><li><p>Manage and maintain hardware life cycle performing hardware upgrades and updates to ensure hardware meets environment performance security requirements.</p></li><li><p>Manage server infrastructure including all hosts and appliances.</p></li><li><p>Manage Active Directory organizational units and group polices.</p></li><li><p>Perform regular system audits and analysis to determine performance trends, compute capacity, and compliance.</p></li><li><p>Review system security audit reports developing and implementing an approved remediation plan that addresses all violations and/or vulnerabilities.</p></li><li><p>Manage Microsoft DNS and WINS</p></li><li><p>Manage Microsoft Print Servers</p></li><li><p>Implement and manage deployment schedules for new operating systems and applications as well as all required patches and updates.</p></li><li><p>Develop standard operating plans and procedures for the security, maintenance, installation and deployment of all managed systems. Provide training and instruction to other team members on how to implement these operating plans and procedures.</p></li><li><p>Create and maintain infrastructure design documentation</p></li><li><p>Provide frequent status reports to manager</p></li><li><p>Maintain environment inventory including all managed hardware, operation system, and application licensing.</p></li><li><p>Tier 3 infrastructure support to I.T. Service Desk.</p></li><li><p>Monitor hardware and software licensing usage and report usage trends, concerns, and violations.</p></li><li><p>Maintain compliance with business continuity plan thru proper testing and regular review reporting concerns or discrepancies to supervisor.</p></li><li><p>Maintain knowledge thru self-study and other approved training opportunities.</p></li><li><p>Participate in departmental on call scheduling as well as weekly maintenance window schedules.</p></li><li><p>Follow proper change management procedures for all system changes.</p></li><li><p>All other duties as assigned.</p></li></ul><p>RELATIONSHIPS AND CONTACTS</p><p>Supervise Approximately: None</p><p>Reports to: I.T. Infrastructure Manager</p><p>Contacts: Frequent contact with other employees, departments, and outside vendors. Some contact with members.</p><p>JOB SPECIFICATIONS</p><p>EDUCATION</p><p>A high school diploma or GED and Bachelors degree in MIS or Computer Science is required. Six years of information systems experience, in lieu of Bachelor degree will be accepted.</p><p>EXPERIENCE</p><p>Three (3) years in Microsoft Windows Server infrastructure management and administration. Must possess and maintain (or be able to obtain) the following certifications: CompTIA Security +, CompTIA Server +, and MCSA.</p><p>PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS</p><p>Position involves wrist/hand manipulation; good visual acuity for detail work; ability to bend stoop on a regular basis; reach overhead and lift up to 50 pounds. Vision abilities required by this job include close vision for frequent viewing of computer monitor and review of documents. Must possess a valid Texas drivers license, means of transportation and be able to travel independently.</p><p>MENTAL REQUIREMENTS</p><p>Must be able to perform job functions independently or with limited supervision and work effectively either on own or as part of a team.
