Definition of Class
This position assists with the development and maintenance of departmental networks; recommending network solutions and monitoring security and configurations. The incumbent assists with the analysis of network initiatives and supporting reports.
Examples of Work Performed
Assists with the maintenance of software and hardware inventories for the department.
Assesses technology needs of the department and submits purchase recommendations to department leads.
Monitors network systems to ensure accurate functionality and recommends changes, as needed.
Diagnoses and corrects computer software and hardware failures for department systems and staff.
Assists with the maintenance of network security, assuring the protection of university and department level networks and data.
Prepares purchase related documentation, including requests for quotes and project budget recommendations.
Provides faculty, staff, and students with training and support in the use of hardware and software, including teaching/training technology.
Designs, maintains, and updates web page(s) and assist with web server maintenance.
Performs database programming and maintenance for assigned unit.
Makes recommendations regarding existing equipment and software to department administrators.
Ensures all assigned tasks are in compliance with department, University, Southeastern Conference, and NCAA rules and regulations
Performs similar or related duties as assigned or required.
Essential Functions

Assists with the development and maintenance of departmental networks.
Coordinates with partners to ensure proper network solutions, security, and configurations are in place
Provides customer service and support to all business units.
Minimum Education/Experience
Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field from a college or university.
AND
Experience:
Three (3) years of experience related to the above described duties.
