Set up, configure, and support internal and/or external networks.
Develop and maintain all systems, applications, security, and network configurations.
Troubleshoot network performance issues and creates and maintains a disaster recovery plan.
Recommend upgrades, patches, and new applications and equipment.
Provide technical support and guidance to users.
Rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
Lead and direct the work of others.
A moderate degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
Troubleshoot circuits using router commands, loops, alarms and errors, and other troubleshooting technologies and techniques.
Troubleshoot networking technologies on a live, global network.
Utilize network monitoring tools to monitor, track and resolve issues.
Escalate issues, when necessary.
Create and update tickets utilizing Remedy.
Active Secret clearance; ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance.
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent and 2 years of related experience.
Possess current DoD-8570 IAT Level 2 baseline certification (Security+ CE, or equivalent).
Experience with one or more of the following: routers, switches, crypto devices, routing, DSN/DRSN, Video Services, ATM, Promina, CISCO, Juniper, MSPP, DWDM, and/or Optical Switching.
Experience with one or more of the following: alarm surveillance, fault management, LAN maintenance, and/or performance management.
Ability to work in a 24/7 operation.
Effective interpersonal and communication (verbal and written) skills.
Ability to travel as necessary.
