Job Summary:

Responsible for providing network administration and support for multiple location LAN and WAN environments and maintaining a high availability network. Assist or install moderately complex computer networking and telecommunication systems. This position will provide service to LCE and, as requested provide assistance to other Ilitch companies. The position will work under general supervision will recommend solutions to problems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for moderately complex support, maintenance and evaluation of computer networking and telecommunication systems; installs, configures, and maintains both physical and virtual servers under general direction. Assist with support for some of the most critical systems of the organization including but not limited to VoIP phone system, VMWare, SANS, Anti-Virus, Patch management, Mobile Device Management, Digital merchandizing, and thin-client environment.

  • Assist in managing all network equipment and servers including moderately complex server installation, configuration and maintenance.

  • Install and maintain network hardware and software.

  • Support and maintain of voice and data VLANS, MPLS circuits, POTS lines and VPNs.

  • Analyze and troubleshoot logs including but not limited to network logs, server aggregated logs, vulnerability scans, patch management lots, back up logs and tracks the nature and resolution of problems.

  • Develop and maintain network security procedures. Add, remove, and change authorities from network users.

  • Assist in coordinating special projects including network related wiring plans, LAN/WAN hardware/software purchases and installation.

  • Maintain familiarity with currently implemented and new technology, including new versions of software, implementation upgrades and changes to procedures/policies.

  • Provide clear communication and documentation of events, processes, procedures and configuration details.

  • Keep up to date on emerging technologies and increase job knowledge through educational opportunities, reading professional journals, maintaining personal and professional networks and participating in professional organizations.

  • Communicate and monitor compliance with existing practices.

  • Keep higher level positions or management apprised of any adverse situations.

Minimum Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related degree with computer classes. Equivalent experiences may be considered in lieu of a formal degree.

  • Minimum of two (2) years' experience in network support, implementation and troubleshooting. Cisco Certifications may be considered in lieu of (2) years' experience.

  • Demonstrated ability to solve moderately complex problems and perform network tuning based on [performance/protocol analysis for network infrastructure.

  • Evidence of ability to work independently and with minimal supervision, however knowing when to involve more experienced staff or management.

  • Evidence of ability to work effectively with a team or independently, however, demonstrating teamwork in group project situations.

  • Proof of ongoing pursuit of knowledge and technology.

Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:

  • Cisco certification.

  • Franchise organization background.

  • QSR Technology experience.

Work Environment:

  • Works in a normal office environment where there is no physical discomfort due to temperature, noise, dust and the like.

  • Position requires participation in an on-call rotation performing weekend and after-hours support to ensure 24/7 department support which can include nights, weekends and holidays.

  • Position may require increased computer screen viewing and the ability to talk and hear.
