POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the general supervision of the Director of Technology, the Network Administrator will be responsible for the activities including, but not limited to, Network and Server Infrastructure to ensure the smooth operation of computer networks, servers and other related systems, as well as maximizing its use as a learning resource to support teaching and enahance student learning. This position will also provide technical support to staff and troubleshoot any issues that arise.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum of a two year degree in a computer related field or high school diploma with demonstrated competence/experience
Minimum of three (3) years of direct experience in related technical field, preferred
Demonstrated and successful technology leadership and project management skills
Ability to work respectfully with staff, students and parents/guardians
Ability to troubleshoot and solve computer hardware and software problems
Possess excellent professional and personable communication skills
Willingness to learn about new technology and adapt to its use
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The nature of responsibilities listed is a reflection of the job as a whole but is not limited to the details outlined below.
Maintain and troubleshoot network-related issues including hardware, server related issues, including network switches, routers, firewalls access points, security cameras, badge access control systems, copiers, printers, phones and other technologies as needed
Secures network system by establishing and enforcing policies and defining and monitoring access.
Provides research and suggestions for purchases to ensure that the network remains secure and up to date.
Install and configure network and server equipment to update or fix hardware or software issues
Monitor computer systems to improve network performance for computer systems and networks
Provide technical and maintenance support to computer workstations in all district buildings including but not limited to PowerSchool, G Suite, Azure, Microsoft Office, and Illuminate
Assist in providing or arranging ongoing in-service programs for all personnel to help keep them abreast of technological application, utilization technique, hardware and software changes as they
apply to education
Promote the use of technology in education and integrating technology in the delivery of district curriculum, programs and services
Assist in training of systems support staff and users; serve as a resource person for systems development, hardware, software and user issues
Assist in the installation and configuration of systems and applications software
Diagnose technology hardware/software problems or arrange for repair of equipment at the Technology Director's discretion
Promote legal procurement and use of all software supported by the district
Assist in the development and maintenance of district equipment and software inventory
Provide technical support for computer labs (i.e., workspace functionality, reporting network status, ghosting of workstations and installing/deleting appropriate software for instruction)
Provide end-user support through the Technology Service Desk (online and telephone)
Uphold board policies and follow administrative procedures
Share in monthly responsibility as video technician for board meetings
Ensure the directives of the Technology Directory are carried out in a timely manner
