Position Details

NETWORK ADMINISTRATOR

Level of Employment: Administrator

Department: Information Technology

Location: Administration Building

Employment Classification: Full Time - Exempt

Reports to: Director, Information Technology

SUMMARY: Responsible for overseeing both the technical and managerial aspects of the infrastructure systems at the core and spanning the entire district to include design, installation, maintenance, and retirement. Works closely with the Director of Information Technology to ensure the policies and programs of the district are carried out in an efficient and uniform manner.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

1.Design and execute short plus long-term strategic plans to assure infrastructure capacity attains current and future needs.

2.Develop, execute, and oversee procedures, policies and related training plans for project management and infrastructure administration.

3.Manage and establish priorities for maintenance, design, development, and analysis of entire infrastructure systems inclusive of LANs, WANs, internet, security, and wireless implementations.

4.Supervise employees and lead, direct and utilize knowledge on best practices in areas related to infrastructure.

5.Test server performance plus provide network presentation statistics.

6.Report and prepare strategies to maintain server infrastructure.

7.Ensure apt security levels on network, infrastructure and servers are maintained.

8.Oversee operational costs, conduct near along with long-term financial estimates for expanded functionality and user base.

9.Direct and administer conditional network analysts plus technicians to provide leadership and direction.

10.Ensure to practice IT asset management inclusive of component inventory maintenance and associated documentation.

11.Perform feasibility studies for different upgrade projects, conversions, and improvements.

12.Develop, execute, and maintain robust and thorough patch management policies and procedures.

13.Works with diverse/multiple situations of complex scope where analysis requires in- depth evaluation and/or interpretation of various factors.

14.Uses knowledge of current issues, past trends, and technological information to provide innovative alternatives to complex solutions.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

1.Bachelor's Degree preferred or equivalent knowledge and experience.

2.CompTIA Net+, CCNP, or equivalent experience

3.CompTIA Security+, CCNP Security or equivalent experience

QUALIFICAITONS:

1.Minimum five (5) years hands on experience designing, configuring, installing, and maintaining firewalls (Cisco, FortiGate), routers (Cisco, Fortinet), switches (Cisco, Fortinet, Ubiquity), access points (Ubiquity, Fortinet) and other enterprise appliances (Infoblox, Net MRI, Fortinet)

2.Minimum five (5) years of managing and maintaining a virtual infrastructure (VMWare, Hyper V) to include server chassis' (Cisco, Lenovo) and SAN's (Fujitsu).

3.Minimum five (5) years of experience working with network access control technologies (ClearPass, Forti Authenticator, etc.)

4.Minimum five (5) years of experience managing and maintaining a Microsoft Active Directory environment.

5.Minimum five (5) years of experience utilizing infrastructure management tools like Microsoft SCCM, JAMF, Ubiquity Unified Manager, Forti Manager, etc.

6.Minimum five (5) years of experience managing and maintaining enterprise archive/backup solutions such as Datto, Barracuda, etc.

7.Minimum five (5) years of experience managing distributed voice systems such as Forti Voice, Cisco Call Manager
