  • The UHS Corporate Information Services department is currently accepting applications for our Network Administrator Internship. We will be starting the interview process in January 2021, targeting a start date around the first week in June 2021.*

Position Summary:

The Corporate Information Services team at UHS is looking for motivated professionals to join our cutting edge team and implement technology solutions to improve healthcare quality and safety, improve patient care, and engage patients and their families in their healthcare.

As a Network Administration Intern you will have the opportunity to work on real-time and meaningful projects, develop your technical skills, collaborate and network with various teams, and receive mentorship.

Essential Job Duties:

  • Participates in lunch and learn sessions to collaborate on UHS IS priorities.

  • Participates in IS projects.

  • Shadows Information Services employees to learn the different roles.

  • Gains familiarity with different healthcare IS systems.

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Cyber Security, or a related degree from accredited college or university

  • Basic computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office applications '

  • Healthcare experience preferred

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills

  • Desire to learn and share ideas in a collaborative work environment

The Controls & Network Manager is responsible for managing a high performing team of network and automation engineers in the business-as-usual operations, upkeep & maintenance, continuous improvement, and capital project support of multiple control systems and the OT infrastructure. The role will maximize the performance, reliability, and security of systems and networks. The successful candidate must be resilient, composed, agile, and committed. * Provide technical management and stewardship of control systems and the OT network infrastructure. Systems include Building Automation (Siemens Apogee), DCS (Emerson DeltaV), PLCs (allen Bradley), and MES (Emerson Syncade). Infrastructure includes network components and nodes (e.g. switches, thin clients, servers, hosts, Dell VTRXs, etc.), control panels, and support applications/systems (e.g. Hyper-V, F5 NLB, Thin Manager, Acronis B&R, etc.). * Be a visible and active leader. Contribute in tiered value stream meetings, spend time on the shop floor, develop and nurture relationships with peers, set direction for the team and operational stakeholders, and hear (and act upon) the 'voice of the customer.'
