This is a great opportunity to join our Global Technical Operations team. We're looking for NetOps Engineer with a passion for networking and exceptional analytical and troubleshooting capabilities.

Mimecast Engineers are high performing, technically competent and passionate technology evangelists, typically at the center of all the action. We tackle a range of complex network and system issues across a large-scale global datacenter environment, in order to ensure the availability and reliability of all Mimecast services.


As part of the globally distributed Mimecast Technical Operations team, you will have a knack for digging deep and taking the lead to resolve on complex technical issues, incidents and daily challenges within this fast-paced environment.

Additionally, you will take ownership and provide leadership on projects, with a focus on solving sometimes very difficult problems and providing intelligent, scalable and maintainable solutions across our global datacenter environment.

  • Provide end to end network engineering support management and maintenance for a predominately Juniper network estate.

  • Work with network providers to resolve network issues.

  • Handle troubleshooting queries related to the network in collaboration with other Engineering teams.

  • Act as an internal point of contact to resolve network related technical issues.

  • Participate in an out-of-hours on call roster


  • Working experience on network switches and routers, preferably Juniper

  • Strong in network switching and routing concepts

  • Strong understanding of common Internet protocols and applications such as SMTP, DNS, HTTP, SSH, SNMP etc.

  • Ability to analyze network behavior, performance and application issues using standard tools.

  • Experience configuring and managing high-end Firewalls

  • Strong foundational knowledge of network protocols including the OSI-layers, TCP/IP, Routing, IPSEC, NAT and SNMP protocols.

  • Hands on experience with network monitoring tools such as Solar winds, Nagios, Cacti, Rancid etc.

  • Previous experience in a network operations role in a global enterprise datacenter environment

  • Exposure to a rapidly scaling environment in growing fast paced enterprise

Desirable Skills

  • Experience with Linux, preferably with CentOS/RHEL-based distributions

  • Network automation experience using Ansible

  • Experience scripting with one of the following languages: BASH, Ruby, or Python

  • Knowledge of and experience working with RESTFul APIs
