Overview

Within a team environment, develops software applications which provide world-class technology solutions globally to NewMarket Corporation and its subsidiaries.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and test Windows and Web applications using ASP.NET and C#

  • Collaborate with the team to create a framework for developing solutions more consistently and efficiently.

  • Participate in planning by analyzing requirements, estimating work effort, performing demos, etc.

  • Write technical documentation.

  • Help with builds and releases

  • Assist in customizations and integration of third-party systems into the existing suite of software systems

Qualifications

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE MINIMUMS:
2+ years' experience with C# and ASP.NET.2+ years' full stack experience developing web-based applications.2+ years' overall experience building software solutions.ASP.NET MVCWeb API 2Microsoft SQL ServerEntity FrameworkJavaScriptHTMLVisual Studio 2015/2017 and .Net FrameworkFamiliarity with IISFamiliarity with architectural concepts, patterns, and standards

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:

  • Angular

  • WPF

  • JQuery

  • Microsoft Unit Testing Framework

  • Experience developing in SharePoint 2007/2010

We have a modern stack and lots of interesting development opportunities. The development group is fairly small, affording each developer the chance to make a big difference in the lives of our users as well as our overall technical direction. Our stack currently includes ASP.NET (Core), MVC, Web API, EF, Sql Server, Lucene, MSMQ, WPF, Angular (and more) and we're constantly evaluating other technologies to integrate into the landscape, particularly as our SOA matures. Responsibilities This is a full stack development position which will involve you working across all phases of the development lifecycle. You should be comfortable designing back-end and middle tier components as well as front-end development. You should also be comfortable working in a team, gathering requirements, estimating work, and producing technical and functional documentation. You will need to communicate effectively within your development team and with your users (who are chemists, not developers). Organizational, analytical, and project management skills will also be very important to being able to realize your work.
