Seeking NNP's and PA's in Sunny Florida!

Come enjoy a mild climate, reasonable cost of living, low tax burden and a high quality of life. We are seeking Neonatal Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants (APP's) to join our collaborative neonatology practice in Jacksonville, Florida.

  • This is a full-time opening comprised of varying shifts ranging from 16 to 24-hours

  • Provide Level II-III NICU care, including ventilator management, central line placement and chest tube insertion

  • In addition to direct NICU patient care, the APP role involves normal newborn care and delivery attendance

  • APPs are NOT responsible for transport

  • Viable candidates must be comfortable with autonomy

  • NNP or PA certification are required

  • Candidate must have minimum 1 year Level 3-4 NICU experience

Position description Outpatient Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant performs the following tasks in any authorized setting (clinics, hospitals, ambulatory surgery centers, nursing homes, or patient's home). * Obtaining patient history * Performing physical examinations * Ordering and performing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures * Formulating a diagnostic impression * Developing and implementing a treatment plan * Monitoring effectiveness of therapeutic interventions * Offering counseling and education to meet patient needs * Making appropriate referrals * Prescribing and dispensing prescription medication * Assisting in surgery * Performing minor procedures and surgical procedures * Demonstrates ability to assess data reflective of patient's status and appropriately interprets information relative to patient's age-specific needs. Qualifications Nurse Practitioner: Must be a graduate of an accredited university, Master of Science in Nursing required (If licensed prior to 1998, Master's degree not required by the State of Florida). Must be licensed or eligible to practice as an ARNP in the State of Florida. Physician Assistant: Must be a graduate of an accredited university, NCCPA Certification required Must be licensed or eligible to practice as a PA in the State of Florida. Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant license to practice in the State of Florida. BLS and/or ACLS required in specific areas. For Nurse Practitioners, certification by the ANCC or AANP is required and for Physician Assistants, NCCPA certification is required. Additional qualifications Two years of experience, in related clinical specialty preferred. BLS preferred. License or certification Physician Assistant: Must be a graduate of CAAHEP (Council on the Accreditations of Allied Health Education Programs) approved university program. NCCPA certification required. Must be licensed/certified or eligible to practice as PA in the State of Florida. Nurse Practitioner: Master's degree in Nursing required. (If licensed prior to 1998, Master's degree not required by the State of Florida.)
