Description
We are seeking students to serve as peer mentors as part of a grant funded project from the National Endowment for Financial Education (NEFE). NEFE is the leading nonprofit national foundation dedicated to inspiring empowered financial decision-making skills for individuals and families. Peer mentors will work with an office on campus to plan programs that spread financial education and give a foundation of common skills needed to plan a financially secure life after graduating college. The offices of Student Work, Financial aid, Campus Engagement, and the Cothran Center are part of the development and training for this position. After interviews and an onboarding period within each office, peer mentors will be placed based off of their interests and strengths into one of the four offices of development. The work of the Peer Mentor would be to provide insight on current financial issues students face, lead workshops for sharing skill building practices, and to improve the understanding of financial literacy amongst peers.

Applicant Requirements
Junior or Senior status on campus
Excellent written and interpersonal skills
Technological proficiency utilizing computers and working with Microsoft Office
Highly responsible, self-starter, with a willingness to learn. Dependable with the ability to work on a team or individually
Job Requirements
Completion of Cash Course interactive learning programs for gaining and developing life skills for financial literacy and career development
Participate in on-going training and development related to Financial Literacy
Delivers the financial literacy education content during on campus workshops
Help to organize and facilitate literacy events and projects, including the preparation of related documents and materials
Create, run, and evaluate data collection surveys for assessment purposes
Document personal reflection points to their experience as mentors/educators in a student-led grant initiative
Along with financial literacy integration, Peer mentors would work with Student Work Program Manager to improve and develop Employment and Paychex trainings for ease of system use by not only all student workers on campus but anyone about to enter the job market
