What you'll do

Perform NonDestructive Testing (NDT) in a manufacturing environment on aircraft parts and assemblies to customer and internal requirements using various NDT methods with conventional and automated equipment. Perform tasks typical of an NAS-410, Level 2 in one or more of the following test methods: Ultrasonics, Radiography and/or Eddy Current.

  • Perform NDT on aircraft parts and interpreter the test results in accordance with test procedures and process specifications. Document test results and interface with various production computer systems

  • Operate ultrasonic equipment; such as: a-scan & resonance scopes, phased array equipment and automated scanning systems. Operate x-ray equipment; such as: robotic scanners and computed radiography data acquisition systems

  • Other test equipment may include: eddy current scopes and helium mass spectrometers

  • Interface with engineers and manufacturing personnel to improve processes and provide test results, as needed

About you

Required Qualifications:


Associate Degree of applied science in NDT, or closely related curriculum preferred, and/or a combination of 1 to 3 years of education and relevant experience in lieu of degree. The classroom training for the applicable test method must meet the minimum required for a Level 2, per NAS-410.

  • Two years of experience in NDT of Composite aircraft parts is desired

  • Applicant must have the skills and formal training needed to become certified to NAS 410 level 2 in radiography testing (RT) and ultrasonic testing (UT), and be able to pass an annual eye examination per the requirements of NAS 410

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Employee must have knowledge of conventional and automated testing systems and understand NDT theory and computer systems

  • Employee. must have good written and verbal communications skills, and be able to work independently and work effectively as a team member

  • Must have strong Problem Solving skills

Candidates must be U.S. Persons with the ability to pass a government background investigation for a DoD Security Clearance at the Secret level. Candidates will also be subject to an employment background investigation to include but not limited to: criminal history, employment and education verification, drug testing, and creditworthiness. The clearance must be maintained during the time of employment.
