What you'll do
Perform NonDestructive Testing (NDT) in a manufacturing environment on aircraft parts and assemblies to customer and internal requirements using various NDT methods with conventional and automated equipment. Perform tasks typical of an NAS-410, Level 2 in one or more of the following test methods: Ultrasonics, Radiography and/or Eddy Current.
Perform NDT on aircraft parts and interpreter the test results in accordance with test procedures and process specifications. Document test results and interface with various production computer systems
Operate ultrasonic equipment; such as: a-scan & resonance scopes, phased array equipment and automated scanning systems. Operate x-ray equipment; such as: robotic scanners and computed radiography data acquisition systems
Other test equipment may include: eddy current scopes and helium mass spectrometers
Interface with engineers and manufacturing personnel to improve processes and provide test results, as needed
Associate Degree of applied science in NDT, or closely related curriculum preferred, and/or a combination of 1 to 3 years of education and relevant experience in lieu of degree. The classroom training for the applicable test method must meet the minimum required for a Level 2, per NAS-410.
Two years of experience in NDT of Composite aircraft parts is desired
Applicant must have the skills and formal training needed to become certified to NAS 410 level 2 in radiography testing (RT) and ultrasonic testing (UT), and be able to pass an annual eye examination per the requirements of NAS 410
Employee must have knowledge of conventional and automated testing systems and understand NDT theory and computer systems
Employee. must have good written and verbal communications skills, and be able to work independently and work effectively as a team member
Must have strong Problem Solving skills
Candidates must be U.S. Persons with the ability to pass a government background investigation for a DoD Security Clearance at the Secret level. Candidates will also be subject to an employment background investigation to include but not limited to: criminal history, employment and education verification, drug testing, and creditworthiness. The clearance must be maintained during the time of employment.
