Overview / Responsibilities
Wood is currently searching for qualified NDE Technicians to work on contract, supporting a variety of projects in the Corpus Christi and Houston, TX areas. Field Engineering & Inspection Solutions is a business area which is growing, and there are several opportunities available.
The NDE Technician opportunities are suited to individuals who are open to an independent contractor employment status. Ideal candidates will have experience in the Oil & Gas industry, training to Level II in at least three of the traditional NDE certifications (MT, PT, UT), and are interested in working on varied project sites.
Currently, we are considering only candidates in the local Corpus Christi & Houston, TX areas.
Responsible for setting up and calibration of equipment, and performing Non-destructive examinations
Ensure that the inspections performed are meeting the inspection requirements for detection
Evaluations for acceptance or rejection determinations according to written instructions
Familiarity with the scope and limitations of the method of NDE being utilized
Exercise assigned responsibility for on the job training and instructions from site leads
Provide timely feedback of inspection results to the Wood Integrity Engineers and site Leads
Comply with all Wood, and client safety procedures that govern the work being performed
Skills / Qualifications
Technician must be able to provide verification of Level II training hours for each method and on the job training hours for each method as per SNT-TC-1A (2016)
Ability to complete written and practical in-house testing on specific methods (in Houston office)
High School Diploma or GED
MS Office, including Word, Excel & Outlook
Effective communication skills; verbal, written and interpersonal
